Community member needed to serve on Nederland EcoPass Advisory Board

Posted

Dear Nederland Community,

I hope you are doing well! I am reaching out because Boulder County needs to recruit a community member to serve on the Nederland EcoPass Public Improvement District Advisory Committee (NEPPIDAC). Basically, it is the advisory committee that oversees how the Nederland EcoPass Program is implemented.

2023 is going to be a particularly important year because they will be preparing for a potential ballot measure to extend the sales tax in November. The meetings are remote and last 1.5-2 hours. They typically meet every quarter, but will likely have to meet closer to every 1-2 months leading up to the ballot measure. Applicants must be residents of the Public Improvement District, which is the same boundary as the Library District.

The EcoPass Program has been really important to households with low incomes in Nederland and it would be great to have someone with a strong human services focus on the committee. Are any of you interested? If so, please let Alex Hyde-Wright know and he can provide more information.

If you can’t apply for the committee yourself, do you know of anyone who would be a great fit? Below is some info you can share with your networks:

The Nederland Communitywide EcoPass Program needs a volunteer to serve on the Nederland EcoPass Public Improvement District Advisory Committee!

Who: Nederland Library District Residents interested in ensuring equitable access to RTD for residents of all incomes, ages, and abilities

What: Volunteer for the Nederland EcoPass Public Improvement District Advisory Committee (https://bouldercounty. gov/transportation/multimodal/ bus/nederland-eco-pass/)

When: Meets approximately 8 times in 2023 and 4 times a year after that. Meetings are 1.5-2 hours during business hours

Where: Virtual Meetings

Why: Oversee the implementation of the Nederland EcoPass Program and potential Ballot Measure Sales Tax Extension process. It is also a great way to reduce the cost of living for Nederland residents by providing free access to transit.
