On 10/1/23, Black Hawk Police officers responded to the Lodge Casino in regard to a fight. A report was taken.
On 10/1/23, officers responded to level eight of a parking garage on the report of two individuals having intercourse in a vehicle with a minor in the vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.
On 10/1/23, officers were dispatched to a TITO theft that occurred at the Lady Luck Casino. Upon arrival in the area, officers located the suspect. The suspect advised he did not know it was against the law to cash someone else's ticket. The suspect returned to the Lady Luck Casino and returned the money to the casino.
On 10/1/23, at approximately 8:53 p.m., an officer initiated a traffic stop in the 300 block of Main Street, for a red light violation. The driver was given a verbal warning and released.
On 10/1/23, at approximately 9:21 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was speeding. The officer later released the driver with a verbal warning.
On 10/1/23, at approximately 9:27 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that failed to utilize a turn signal. The officer later released the driver with a verbal warning.
On 10/1/23, at approximately 10:01 p.m., officers stopped a motorist who was missing the month and year tabs on their license plate and they were issued a warning.
On 10/2/23, at approximately 1:44 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Monarch Casino for the report of a couple in the family bathroom who had set off the fire alarm, upon contact they fled. The parties were later contacted at the Lodge Casino where a male fled from police. He was later arrested for multiple warrants.
On 10/2/23, an officer received a phone report of a vehicle trespass/property theft incident, at the Horseshoe parking garage.
On 10/2/23, at approximately 7:14 p.m., an officer responded to the Monarch Casino to contact a male suspect who had taken a TITO ticket from the Horseshoe Casino. The suspect was asked to return to the Horseshoe Casino to return the money.
On 10/2/23, at approximately 10:32 p.m., Black Hawk officers stopped a vehicle which was observed with no license plate at Highway 119 and Main Street. The driver was released with a warning.
On 10/3/23, at approximately 1:15 a.m., a Black Hawk Police officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. The driver was later released with a verbal warning for speeding.
On 10/3/23, officers from the Black Hawk Police Department assisted the Gilpin County Sheriff's Office on a theft of services. During the investigation, it was discovered the involved vehicle was reported stolen. The involved female was arrested and the male was taken into custody for questioning.
On 10/3/23, an officer responded to the Monarch Casino for an intoxicated party. Party was released to a sober party and a report was taken.
On 10/3/23, at approximately 8:59 p.m., a Black Hawk Police officer conducted a traffic stop. The officer later released the driver with a verbal warning for speeding.
On 10/3/23, at approximately 10:40 p.m., officers received a welfare check for an individual who was gambling at Bally's North Casino located at 300 Main Street. The party was okay.
On 10/4/23, the Black Hawk Police Department contacted an adult male sleeping on the Creekside bicycle path. The party was advised he could not sleep there and was advised to move on.
On 10/4/23, an officer conducted a traffic stop after the driver made an illegal lane change. The driver was contacted and given a verbal warning.
On 10/4/23, the Black Hawk Police Department responded to the Famous Bonanza Casino in Central City to assist the Colorado Division of Gaming in the arrest of a male theft suspect who was resisting arrest. The suspect was taken into custody.
On 10/4/23, at approximately 5:49 p.m., officers responded to the Bally's North casino on the report of found drugs. An unknown substance was collected from the scene and booked into evidence for destruction.
On 10/4/23, at approximately 9:30 p.m., a Black Hawk Police officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was speeding. A citation was issued to the driver and he was later released.
On 10/4/23, at approximately 10:15 p.m., officers responded to the Horseshoe Casino for a welfare check on a party who was abandoned by their caretaker. Officers were able to get in contact with a friend to come back and watch the party that was called for a welfare check.
On 10/5/23, at approximately 12:46 a.m., officers responded to the Horseshoe hotel for a welfare check on a party thought to be in fear of their safety or life. It was determined nothing criminal occurred and the individual's welfare was okay.
On 10/5/23, I contacted two parties who were sleeping in a vehicle in the parking garage at the Lady Luck parking garage. Both parties were identified and trespassed off the property by security.
On 10/5/23, officers received a phone call about a possible hit-and-run that may have occurred at Ameristar Casino on 9/26/23. Upon investigation, the call was determined to be unfounded.
On 10/5/23, the Lakewood Police Department requested the Black Hawk Police Department's assistance in investigating the possible disappearance of an adult female. The female was later located and was safe.
On 10/5/23, at approximately 2:21 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Horseshoe parking garage to investigate a 911 hangup. Two parties were contacted and nothing criminal was determined to have occurred. Officers provided a civil standby while a subject retrieved property from a vehicle. Officers cleared on a field interview report.
On 10/6/23, officers received a call for a sexual assault that occurred on 9/30/23 at the Monarch Casino. A report was taken and a detective was assigned to the case.
On 10/6/23, at approximately 2:53 a.m., the Black Hawk Police Department received a call regarding a theft of a wallet occurring at Horseshoe Casino. Upon surveillance review, no suspect was identified.
On 10/6/23, an officer conducted a traffic stop after the vehicle crossed into the intersection on a red light. The driver was issued a warning.
On 10/6/23, the Black Hawk Police Department responded to a report of a male party threatening patrons and staff at the Bally's West Casino. The party was later identified as the suspect in another incident at the Ameristar Casino. The party was contacted and issued a summons for Disorderly Conduct.
On 10/6/23, at approximately 3:10 p.m., officers responded to a non-injury vehicle accident at the intersection of Main Street and Miners Road. A male driver was issued and released on a summons.
On 10/6/23, an officer responded to the Gilpin Casino on the report of a counterfeit bill that was turned into the cage by a female party.
On 10/6/23, officers responded to the Horseshoe Casino on a civil issue. A female wanted a police report taken for a vehicle window that was broken by a valet employee. The employee admitted to breaking the window by accident and a report was taken for documentation.
On 10/6/23, Black Hawk officers were dispatched to the Ameristar Casino on a report of a stolen phone. Officers contacted the owner of the phone who stated she did not want to press charges. Officers requested a surveillance review and the phone was left inside a restroom. Officers are unable to identify a suspect in this case.
On 10/7/23, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of the 300 block of Main Street. The vehicle was a reported possible drunk driver. Officers contacted the driver and released them on a verbal warning. Officers also completed a Colorado Department of Revenue state for requesting the driver complete a retest for their driver's license.
On 10/7/23, officers were dispatched to the Lodge Casino on a report of damaged property. Officers contacted the suspect who failed to provide correct and accurate identification. The officers booked the male into Gilpin County Jail for obstruction. He was not charged with the property damage as the investigation is still active and the initial estimate of damage was $5,000.
On 10/7/23, the Black Hawk Police Department responded to the Horseshoe Casino on a report of male party that had been formally trespassed. The male was contacted and issued a summons.
On 10/8/23, officers were dispatched to Bally's North to assist the Colorado Gaming Agency. A report was taken.
On 10/8/23, an officer received a phone report of stolen property, from the Ameristar Garage. A report was taken.
On 10/8/23, at approximately 7:57 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle that carelessly turned in front of another car without enough room. The driver was given a warning.
On 10/8/23, at approximately 9:14 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle bearing a stolen license plate. It was determined the driver was the owner of the plate and therefore was released on a warning.
On 10/8/23, at approximately 11:48 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation occurring on Highway 119 and Main Street. The driver was released on a verbal warning for no headlights.
On 10/9/23, at approximately 12:26 a.m., Black Hawk officers responded to the Lodge Casino on the report of underage gaming. The suspect was found to be underaged and this case was referred to the Colorado Division of Gaming.
On 10/9/23, at approximately 7:33 p.m., officers received a REDDI report. The vehicle was located at the intersection of Richman Street and Highway 119. The driver was arrested for DUI.
On 10/9/23, at approximately 8:41 p.m., officers responded to the Hidden Treasures parking lot for suspicious vehicles. Both parties were contacted and told they could not be parked in the lot after dark.
On 10/9/23, at approximately 11:57 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle which made a u-turn where prohibited. The driver was issued a warning.
On 10/10/23, officers stopped a vehicle with no plates. The driver had recently purchased it and had an appointment to register it.
On 10/10/23, an officer received a report of a missing adult at the Ameristar Casino. The party was located and assistance was provided. A report was taken.
On 10/10/23, at approximately 8:55 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation occurring at Highway 119 and Gregory Street. The driver was given a verbal warning and officers cleared on a field interview report.
On 10/10/23, at approximately 10:54 p.m., officers responded to the Horseshoe Casino for a report of a lost wallet. Surveillance did a video review and a male suspect who was seen taking the wallet was contacted and issued a municipal summon for theft.
On 10/11/23, at approximately 4:19 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Horseshoe Casino in reference to a domestic violence incident. A suspect was arrested.
On 10/11/23, at approximately 6:38 a.m., an officer responded to the Horseshoe Casino in reference to a lost cell phone. It was later determined the cell phone was stolen. A report was taken and additional follow-up will be completed in an attempt to identify the suspect.
On 10/11/23, at approximately 11:55 p.m., an officer received information regarding a suspicious incident and a stolen vehicle. It was reported that the stolen vehicle was parked at the Monarch Casino garage on level 6. The vehicle was later recovered at this location. A report was taken and this case will be forwarded to investigations.
On 10/12/23, the Black Hawk Police Department assisted the Colorado Department of Revenue on an investigation. A male and female associated with the suspect were identified and contacted.
On 10/12/23, at approximately 2:30 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of Miners Road on the report of a vehicle damaged by construction equipment.
On 10/12/23, an officer responded to the JKQ BBQ restaurant on the report of harassing phone calls. This case is still active.
On 10/12/23, officers were on a walk at the Horseshoe Casino when a staff member came up to the officers and reported that there was a domestic violence incident and that it was physical. The incident occurred near the Lady Luck Casino Hotel lobby. A report was taken.
On 10/12/23, Black Hawk officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at mile marker 5.8 on Highway 119. Officers contacted the vehicle due to the vehicle having no lights on while driving. Officers released them on a verbal warning.
On 10/12/23, officers were made aware of an anonymous letter that was received at the Saratoga Casino. The letter referenced gaming and criminal issues that were occurring and listed specific individuals that were involved. The letter was forwarded to the Division of Gaming. All of the individuals listed in the letter were known to the officers from prior criminal involvement. Our department will begin extra patrols of the casino and will work with the staff to assist them with these individuals.
On 10/13/23, officers conducted a traffic stop for speeding. The driver was given a verbal warning and a field investigation report was completed.
On 10/13/23, Black Hawk officers responded to the Monarch Casino on a report of possible narcotics. Officers collected the substance and contacted a male suspect. Officers spoke with the male who stated the substance was narcotics. Due to the suspect's honesty and the amount of narcotics found, officers did not charge the male.
On 10/13/23, the Black Hawk Police Department responded to the Gilpin Casino valet parking lot to check the welfare of an adult female who had passed out and vomited on herself.
On 10/13/23, at approximately 2:55 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Highway 119 and Richman Street on the report of a vehicle and pedestrian accident. A male party sustained minor injuries and the driver immediately returned to the scene.
On 10/13/23, at approximately 3:07 p.m., officers responded to the Ameristar Casino on the report of found drugs. A male suspect was located and released with pending charges. Suspected narcotics were seized from the scene and booked into evidence.
On 10/13/23, the Black Hawk Police Department responded to a report of male party trespassing at the Wild Card Casino. The male party was contacted and issued a summons to municipal court.
On 10/13/23, at approximately 4:15 p.m., officers received a phone report regarding a cold loss of property which occurred on 4/4/23.
On 10/13/23, at approximately 5:21 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Bally's West Casino on the report of drug use in a restroom. A male suspect was located and issued a summons.
On 10/13/23, officers responded to a physical disturbance in a hotel room at Ameristar Casino. A male was arrested for 3rd degree assault.
On 10/13/23, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driving at night without headlights. The driver was given a verbal warning.
On 10/13/23, Black Hawk officers took a phone report of a reported missing wallet from the Ameristar Casino. Officers spoke to the owner who reported his wallet was missing and last seen at the Ameristar Casino. Ameristar Surveillance is conducting a review to attempt to locate the wallet. It is unclear at this time if the wallet was stolen or lost.
On 10/14/23, officers took a phone report of a theft of a cell phone from the Ameristar Casino. Officers identified the suspect but were unable to locate him. Officers are attempting to locate the phone and suspect the case is still active.
On 10/14/2023 Black Hawk officers stopped a reported drunk driver on Miners Road. Officers contacted the driver and arrested them for DUI.
On 10/14/2023, an officer responded to the Ameristar Casino on the report of a disturbance. The parties involved did not want to press charges and were given a verbal warning.
On 10/15/23, officers responded to the Monarch Casino on an ID check. The female was over twenty-one and a field investigation was completed on the contact.
On 10/15/23, an officer responded to the Gilpin Casino for a suspicious incident. All involved parties were located and a report was taken.
On 10/15/23, an officer with the Black Hawk Police Department took a phone report on a hit and run at the Dakota Lot. A suspect was identified and contacted. The case will remain active until the summons is issued.
On 10/15/23, at approximately 5:43 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was observed at Miners Road and Main Street bearing a license plate that did not belong to it. The driver was issued a warning and the plate was to be removed by the driver and kept in their possession due to the circumstances.
On 10/15/23, at approximately 7:36 p.m., officers took a report of lost property which was left at the Monarch Hotel on 10/14/23. The property is attempting to be located.
On 10/15/23, officers responded to the Lodge Casino on a report of a theft. Officers were able to contact the suspect by phone, and he returned with the property and was issued a municipal summons.
On 10/16/23, at approximately 12:23 p.m., officers responded to the Lodge Casino on a report of a fake identification with a possible underage gambler who had been drinking alcohol. The incident is under investigation.
On 10/16/23, at approximately 5:18 a.m., Black Hawk Police officers responded to the Horseshoe Casino on the report of a counterfeit bill. The bill was booked into evidence.
On 10/16/23, an officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Main Street for a party throwing rocks. The party was located and found to have an active warrant as well. The party was transported to the Gilpin County Jail.
On 10/16/23, at approximately 5:16 p.m., an officer took a report of a lost wallet at the Black Hawk Police Department.
On 10/16/23, at approximately 8:11 p.m., officers responded to Wild Card Casino on the report of a theft. The suspect was located and charged, and the money was returned.
On 10/16/23, at approximately 9:06 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was speeding. The officer later released the driver with a verbal warning.
On 10/16/23, at approximately 11:50 p.m., Black Hawk Police officers responded to the Horseshoe Casino on the report of found drugs. Due to 4th Amendment violations, the drugs were unobtainable and the suspect had already left the scene.
On 10/17/23, at approximately 1:21 a.m., officers responded to a report of harassment at the Ameristar Casino, located at 111 Richman Street. The victim of the incident expressed they did not wish to press charges and a warning was given after the suspect was located.
On 10/17/23, an officer responded to the Horseshoe Casino for a theft incident. Suspect was located and transported to the Gilpin County Jail.
On 10/17/23, at approximately 5:40 p.m., officers responded to the Ameristar Casino on a report of a lost purse. Officers were unable to determine where the purse was lost.
On 10/17/23, at approximately 7:23 hours p.m., an officer responded to the Ameristar Hotel on a report of a theft from a hotel room. The theft was unfounded.
On 10/17/23, at approximately 8:56 p.m., officers responded to the Horseshoe Casino on a report of a counterfeit bill. The bill was seized and a report was taken.
On 10/18/23, at approximately 12:44 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation occurring at Main Street and Highway 119. The driver was given a warning for obstructed plate and officers cleared with a field interview report.
On 10/18/23, Black Hawk Police officers were on a traffic stop at mile marker 5.8 on Highway 119 when a vehicle failed to slow down while passing two emergency vehicles on the shoulder. Officers caught up to the vehicle at mile marker 5 and conducted a traffic stop. Officers spoke to the driver who stated they were traveling at 43 MPH in a posted 45 MPH zone. It was explained that was not enough as since there is no lane to move over into, Colorado Law requires the driver to slow to 20 MPH under the speed limit in a 45 MPH zone. Officers released the driver on a verbal warning for careless driving.
On 10/18/23, Black Hawk Police officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle southbound Highway 119 at mile marker 6.5. Officers contacted the driver for expired registration and released them on a verbal warning.
On 10/18/23, at approximately 1:42 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation occurring at Highway 119 and Miners Road. The driver was issued a summons for no insurance.
On 10/18/23, at approximately 4:07 p.m., officers responded to the Horseshoe parking garage on a REDDI report. Colorado State Patrol arrived on the scene and contacted the driver of the vehicle.
On 10/18/23, at approximately 9:05 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation occurring on Highway 119 and Miners Road. The driver was given a verbal warning for no license plate attached and officers cleared with a field interview report.
On 10/18/23, at approximately 9:36 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation occurring at Highway 119 and Main Street. Officers cleared with a verbal warning for no headlights and a field interview report.
On 10/19/23, at approximately 3:37 a.m., officers responded to the Lady Luck Hotel on a report of a theft. A suspect has yet to be identified. A report was taken.
On 10/19/23, Black Hawk Police officers located a sign and a set of keys outside the Black Hawk Police Department. Officers have no way to identify who left the keys or the owner. They keys were booked in as found property.
On 10/19/23, at approximately 1:06 p.m., an officer responded to Bally's parking garage on a report of a disturbance. The disturbance ended up being a verbal argument.
On 10/19/23, at approximately 1:53 p.m., officers responded to the Ameristar Hotel on the report of a found firearm. A firearm was recovered from the scene and has been booked into safekeeping.
On 10/19/23, at approximately 3:11 p.m., officers responded to mile marker 6 to assist Gilpin County deputies on the report of a disturbance in progress. A male party was taken into custody.
On 10/19/23, an officer responded to the Monarch Hotel on the report of a handgun left behind in a hotel room. The firearm was seized. The owner of the firearm attempted to recover the weapon but when he was informed law enforcement was contacted, he left the scene.
On 10/20/23, officers were dispatched to the Horseshoe Casino Hotel lobby in regard to a possible domestic incident. Officers made contact with one of the parties involved and they said the incident was verbal only and that nothing physical had occurred. They told officers that the other party had taken some of their items. The party became uncooperative and walked away from officers while they were still conducting the investigation. Officers attempted contact with the other party involved by going to the hotel room and calling them via phone but were unable to contact them.
On 10/20/23, the Black Hawk Police Department responded to check the welfare of a party that was reported as sleeping in a vehicle at the Saratoga Casino parking garage. The male party was found in possession of controlled substances and drug paraphernalia. The drugs and paraphernalia were seized. The male was also found to be in possession of stolen property. The property was also seized until the owner could be identified.
On 10/20/23, at approximately 11:20 a.m., officers responded to the Horseshoe Casino parking garage on the report of a cold vehicle break-in. A suspect has not yet been identified.
On 10/20/23, officers were dispatched to the Monarch Casino on a report of a female party walking the garage looking into vehicles. Officers contacted the female who provided false identifying information. The female was later identified and had two felony warrants for her arrest. Officers booked her into the Gilpin County Jail on her warrants and issued a summons for providing false identifying information. No vehicles were discovered to be trespassed or broken into.
On 10/20/23, officers responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of harassing phone calls. Upon arrival, it was determined a crime didn't occur and a report was taken for documentation only.
On 10/20/23, officers responded to the Gilpin Valet on the report of a civil problem involving damage done to a vehicle by a valet employee. A report was taken.
On 10/20/23, Black Hawk Police officers were dispatched to the Bull Durham Casino on a report of a trespassing. Officers contacted the party and the casino stated they did not want to press charges. The male was escorted off the property and advised not to return or he would get a ticket.
On 10/21/23, Black Hawk officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Main Street on a report of a cab fair unpaid. Officers contacted the driver who stated the parties refused to pay. Officers contacted a male rider who stated they asked to be dropped off earlier and the cab driver continued to drive. Officers did not charge in this case and the case status is unfounded.
On 10/21/23, officers were dispatched to the Monarch Casino parking garage on a report of individuals doing drugs inside their vehicle. Upon arrival, the vehicle was pulling out of the garage and a traffic stop was attempted and the vehicle eluded officers. The case remains open.
On 10/21/23, the Black Hawk Police Department responded to the Lodge Casino on a report of two counterfeit $50 bills. The male party believed to have passed the bills has not been identified.
On 10/21/23, at approximately 11:02 a.m., an officer responded to the Ameristar Casino on a report of a traffic accident inside the garage.
On 10/21/23, the Black Hawk Police department responded to the Lodge Casino to speak to a party about her lost cell phone. The cell phone was later found and returned.
On 10/21/23, the male driver of a Blue 2014 Ram 2500 was contacted by the Black Hawk Police Department for failure to obey a traffic control signal. A penalty assessment was issued.
On 10/21/23, officers were dispatched to the Monarch Casino on a report of a disturbance. Officers located both parties involved and it was reported to be a verbal argument only with no criminal activity.
On 10/22/23, an officer responded to the Black Hawk Post Office for a welfare check. The party was located and a report was taken.
On 10/22/23, an officer with the Black Hawk Police Department took a report on a damaged stop sign. Photographs were attached and a CIRSA form was completed.
On 10/22/23, at approximately 6:54 p.m., officers responded to mile marker 6.5 on Highway 119 for a non-injury accident. The driver who caused the accident was issued a summons for careless driving and driving without a driver's license.
On 10/22/23, at approximately 8:48 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation occurring at Miners Road. The driver was given a verbal warning for a stop sign violation and the officer cleared with a field interview report.
On 10/22/23, at approximately 9:27 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a red light violation occurring on Gregory Street and Main Street. The driver was given a warning and the officer cleared with a field interview report.
On 10/23/23, at approximately 2:55 a.m., Black Hawk officers were notified of harassment. After investigations, a male party was identified and issued a summons for harassment.
On 10/23/23, at approximately 3:36 a.m, officers were dispatched to the Ameristar Casino garage on a report of public urination. Officers made contact with a suspect and issued a municipal summons.
On 10/23/23, at approximately 7:23 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation occurring on Highway 119 at mile marker 6.1. The driver was given a verbal warning for no license plate attached and a field interview report was completed.
On 10/23/23, at approximately 9:15 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop for a traffic violation occurring on Highway 119 at mile marker 6. A report was completed.
On 10/23/23, at approximately 8:55 p.m., a Black Hawk officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was speeding and did not properly use a turn signal. The officer later released the driver with a verbal warning.
On 10/23/23, at approximately 7:45 p.m., officers were called to a REDDI report at the Monarch Casino. The driver was contacted before the vehicle had been moved and was advised not to drive. Officers were called again at 8:47 p.m. and identified the driver. The driver was lectured and released. Officers completed a field interview report.
