Black Hawk Police Reports, March 2025
On 3/1/25, at approximately 9:42 a.m., Black Hawk Police took a phone report for a charge on the reporting party’s account that was unfamiliar. The reporting party stated the card was used twice at the Monarch Casino. A report was taken.
On 3/1/25, at approximately 9:14 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at 488 Main Street, after observing a vehicle run a stop sign and failing to use a turn signal. The driver was issued a warning.
On 3/1/25, at approximately 12:15 p.m., Black Hawk Police responded to a found property report at the Bally's North Casino. The officer found and collected a backpack containing methamphetamine, which was taken to the police department.
On 3/1/25, at 5:59 p.m., officers were notified of a pick pocket theft at the Bull Durham Casino. Once on scene, officers made contact with a male victim, who reported he was playing at a slot machine when a male suspect came, reached into the victim's pocket and pulled out a 20-dollar bill. Upon further investigation, surveillance was able to track down the suspect and he was later identified. The case was closed.
On 3/1/25, at 6 p.m,, officers responded to Miners Road and Highway 119 on a report of a potential motor vehicle collision. A report was completed.
On 3/1/25, at 7:52 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a REDDI report (Report Every Drunk Driver Immediately) vehicle at the 300 block of Gregory Street. The driver was determined to not be under the influence, but was experiencing mechanical issues. A field interview report was completed.
On 3/1/25, at 9:51 p.m., officers went to the Monarch Casino on a harassment report. Once on scene, a cocktail waitress wanted to report that she was shoved by a customer walking by and wanted to file a report. Upon further investigation, surveillance footage showed that the male did not shove the cocktail waitress. A report was taken.
On 3/1/25, at 11:56 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle called in as a REDDI report by staff at the Monarch Casino. The driver was arrested and released on a summons for DUI.
On 3/2/25, at approximately 12:49 a.m., officers responded to the Lodge Casino on a disturbance report. Upon arrival, the officers identified three suspects, issued citations, and took a report.
On 3/2/25, at 12:39 a.m., officers were notified of a physical disturbance in a hotel room at the Lady Luck Hotel. Once on scene, security informed officers that the individuals had left the hotel room and surveillance lost track of them somewhere in the parking garage. Officers were unable to locate the individuals in the parking garage, but after further investigation they were able to identify a female suspect. A report was taken.
On 3/2/25, at 2:50 a.m., officers received a report of an intoxicated driver. The vehicle was contacted at the Horseshoe parking garage. The driver was determined not to be under the influence. A field interview report was completed.
On 3/2/25, at 3:27 a.m., officers responded to the Monarch Casino, on a report of a physical disturbance. A suspect was arrested after fleeing from officers on foot. The suspect was booked into jail on several charges and a report was completed.
On 3/2/25, at approximately 7:29 a.m., the Black Hawk Police completed a phone report of a theft of a purse from Ameristar Casino.
On 3/2/25, at approximately 12:01 p.m., officers responded to the Horseshoe Casino, on a report of a theft. The suspect was identified and issued a municipal summons. The stolen property was returned to the victim.
On 3/2/25, officers were dispatched to the Monarch parking garage regarding a party who had been thrown out of a vehicle and was injured. Contact was made with the party who refused medical attention and would not cooperate with police.
On 3/2/25, at 9:10 p.m., officers responded to the Monarch Casino on a report of found drugs with a suspect on property. The suspect was contacted and, upon further review of surveillance video, it was determined they had not dropped the drugs. The found drugs were booked in for destruction. A report was completed.
On 3/2/25, at approximately 11:46 p.m., officers responded to Bally's West Casino, on a report of damaged property. Officers were unable to identify the suspect.
On 3/3/25, at 12:37 a.m., officers responded to the Bally's parking garage on a report of an intoxicated driver. The party was arrested on DUI charges.
On 3/3/25, at approximately 5:09 a.m., officers responded to 111 Richman Street on a lost property report. The party lost her ring in one of the casinos. Officers were unable to determine where the ring had been lost.
On 3/3/25, at approximately 12:15 p.m., officers assisted Gilpin County Sheriff's Department at southbound Highway 119 at mile marker 4.5 with a male party who had a felony warrant. Deputies arrested the male party and transported him to the Gilpin County Jail.
On 3/3/25, Black Hawk Dispatch received a phone call on a report of a theft at the Horseshoe Casino. Officers contacted the reporting party by phone and were unable to determine suspect information.
On 3/3/25, at approximately 6:26 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with an unreadable license plate. The driver was given a verbal warning.
On 3/4/25, an officer conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle with a temporary license plate displaying a different expiration date than the one DMV had on file. The driver was released on a summons, and the license plate was seized.
On 3/4/25, officers observed a suspicious person on Highway 119. Officers made contact and discovered a female who was under the influence of drugs. Officers placed the female into protective custody and cleared the scene.
On 3/4/25, officers were flagged down by a citizen reporting a lost wallet. After a brief investigation, officers discovered the wallet had been dropped and picked up by an unknown male. Officers have a suspect in this case and are actively investigating.
On 3/4/25, at approximately 6:57 p.m., officers responded to Bally's parking garage on a report of a disturbance. Officers discovered an intoxicated party leaving the scene of a vehicle collision. Officers took the suspect into custody and released them on a summons.
On 3/4/25, an officer obtained information from an anonymous source about a sexual assault that possibly occurred in the city. The potential victim was interviewed and did not wish to disclose information or cooperate with an investigation.
On 3/6/25, an officer conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle displaying expired registration. The driver was released on a summons.
On 3/6/25, at approximately 9:45 a.m., officers responded to the south entrance of the Lodge Casino on a report of a male who was unconscious but breathing. The male woke up and it was determined he was under the influence of alcohol. He was transported to the jail on a warrant but was later transported to the hospital due to intoxication levels.
On 3/6/25, at approximately 3:17 p.m., an officer took a report on a damaged lock to a box located in the water collection site. The lock was replaced.
On 3/6/25, at approximately 8:55 p.m., an officer responded to the Monarch Casino parking garage on a report of stolen vehicle parts in the garage. The scene was investigated, and a report was taken.
On 3/6/25, at approximately 4:11 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of Main Street in Central City for a fight in progress. Upon arrival, officers assisted in locating the involved parties and remained on the scene until Gilpin County Sheriff's deputies arrived.
On 3/6/25, at 6:30 p.m., officers were advised of a traffic complaint in Gilpin County. The reporting party said he was following a silver sedan that could not maintain the lanes on northbound Highway 119. Officers were able to locate the vehicle and followed it into the Bally's parking garage. Gilpin County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the scene and cited the male driver. A report was taken.
On 3/6/25, at 9:21 p.m., officers located a black Lexus that appeared to have slid on ice westbound on Main Street towards the Highway 119 intersection and collided with a green electrical box owned by the state. The Lexus was unoccupied when officers came into contact with the vehicle. Upon further investigation a suspect was identified and was issued a summons. A report was completed.
On 3/7/25, at 2:53 a.m., officers responded to assist Gilpin County deputies with a domestic violence suspect who barricaded himself in a residence and was known to have weapons. The suspect surrendered peacefully and was taken into custody.
On 3/7/25, at 4:30 a.m., officers responded to the Monarch Casino for a guest who was intoxicated and being belligerent with security. The subject left prior to contact, returned and then left again and walked to the Horseshoe Casino, where he was contacted. The subject was in violation of a mandatory protection order and was placed into custody.
On 3/7/25, at approximately 8:29 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for running a stop sign. The driver was issued a verbal warning.
On 3/7/25, at approximately 11:53 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with no visible plate attached. Upon contact, the driver did not have insurance and was issued a summons.
On 3/7/25, at approximately 3:35 p.m., an officer responded to Horseshoe Casino in reference to a hit and run accident that occurred in the valet area of the casino. The suspect left the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
On 3/7/25, at approximately 4 p.m., officers responded to the Z Casino on a report of a cold assault that had occurred. The suspect was later located and arrested.
On 3/7/25, at approximately 10:48 p.m., officers responded to the Monarch Casino on a report of a male and female who were arguing. Surveillance advised the male grabbed the female by the hair and pulled her back into a hotel elevator. Officers arrived on scene and contacted the male and female, separating them and conducting an interview. Officers arrested the male for Domestic Violence/Harassment and transported him to the Gilpin County Jail.
On 3/8/25, at 4 a.m., officers responded to the Ameristar Hotel on a report of a disturbance that had evolved into a physical disturbance. When officers arrived on scene, they came into contact with four individuals in a hotel room. Upon further investigation, a male suspect was taken into custody for two counts of Harassment, Criminal Mischief and Underage Drinking. The male suspect was transported to the Gilpin County Jail and a report was taken.
On 3/8/25, at approximately 8:29 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with no visible plate attached. The vehicle was a rental vehicle, and all of the information was lined up. The driver was issued a verbal warning.
On 3/8/25, at approximately 11:21 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for expired registration. The driver was issued a verbal warning.
On 3/8/25, at approximately 3:12 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for running a red light. The driver was issued a verbal warning.
On 3/8/25, at approximately 7 p.m., officers were dispatched to Bally's East Casino on a report of a verbal altercation. The suspect was identified and officers attempted to locate that suspect but were unable to. The investigation is ongoing.
On 3/8/25, at 11 p.m., an officer took a phone report regarding a lost cell phone. This case remains active for further investigation.
On 3/8/25, at approximately 8:05 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at the bus turn around located at the Lodge Casino that failed to yield to a pedestrian. A verbal warning was given to the driver.
On 3/8/25, at approximately 8 p.m., officers observed a damaged road sign in the median of the 200 block of Main Street. The City of Black Hawk’s street department was notified and a report was completed.
On 3/8/25, at approximately 10:14 p.m., officers responded to the Monarch Casino on a report of a disturbance. A suspect was identified, taken into custody and booked into the Gilpin County Jail.
On 3/9/25, at approximately 12:47 a.m., officers responded to a report of found drugs at the Lodge Casino. A suspect was contacted, given a summons, and released.
On 3/9/25, at approximately 1:18 a.m., officers responded to the Monarch Casino on a welfare check regarding a child who was left in a room alone. Upon arrival and after contacting two adults, surveillance advised that the child was never in the room alone and always had an adult present. Officers took a CRFI report.
On 3/9/25, at 3:24 a.m., officers responded to the Monarch Casino. A male victim was contacted who stated that he was hit in the face numerous times by an unknown male suspect due to a dispute over a slot machine. Officers were unable to identify or locate the suspect. An investigation is pending.
On 3/9/25, at 4:07 a.m., officers responded to a report of a fight at the Ameristar Casino. A suspect was arrested and an additional subject was issued a summons. A report was completed.
On 3/9/25, at 3:09 p.m., officers responded to a damaged property report at the Monarch Casino. A suspect has not been identified.
On 3/9/25, at 3:36 p.m., an officer completed a telephone report regarding harassment that occurred on 3/7/25, at the Bally's North Casino. Suspect information was obtained.
On 3/9/25, at approximately 10:06 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at Highway 119 and Richman Street for an expired plate. A summons was issued.
On 3/10/25, at approximately 2:17 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Monarch Casino for found drugs. After an investigation, a suspect was detained and issued a summons for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance
On 3/10/25, at 10:05 a.m., officers observed a vehicle with a tinted license plate cover on a vehicle at the intersection of Highway 119 and Miners Road. The driver was given a warning.
On 3/10/25, at approximately 10:52 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Monarch Casino on a report of a suicidal person. Officers arrived and, after investigation, placed the person on an M1 hold for suicidal ideation.
On 3/11/25, at 1:10 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle whose license plate was not visible. The driver was released on a warning.
On 3/11/25, at approximately 1:41 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Horseshoe Casino on a report of damage to an elevator. Once officers arrived, they were able to locate the suspect in a hotel room. Officers issued a summons for damaged property.
On 3/11/25, at 8:05 a.m., an officer responded to the 100 block of Main Street on a traffic accident report. The accident damaged a city sign, and the driver was later identified.
On 3/11/25, at approximately 11:18 a.m., an officer contacted a male party near Avenue of Allstars and Richman, who had six warrants. The party was arrested and later booked into the Gilpin County Jail.
On 3/11/25, at approximately 2:40 p.m., an officer responded to the Monarch Casino on a report of a lost credit card. The victim canceled the card, which showed no suspicious activity.
On 3/11/25, at approximately 3:12 p.m., an officer assisted gaming on a theft call. One party was issued a summons, and $20,000 was returned to the casino.
On 3/11/25, at 7:42 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle that could not maintain lanes. After the investigation revealed the driver was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol, the driver was released on a warning.
On 03/11/25, at 9:23 p.m., officers observed a vehicle traveling down Main Street without its headlights on. Officers conducted a traffic stop and gave the driver a warning. Officers released the driver and cleared the scene.
On 3/12/25, at approximately 10:24 a.m., an officer completed a phone report of a lost or stolen coat from the Lady Luck Casino.
On 3/12/25, at 7:32 p.m., officers received a report of a hit-and-run that occurred on 3/8/25, in the north lot of 530 Gregory Street. Officers are investigating at this time.
On 3/12/25, at approximately 10 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for displaying expired registration tags and running a stop sign. The driver had updated registration tags and had failed to put them on. The driver was issued a verbal warning.
On 3/12/25, at approximately 10:21 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for displaying an expired temporary tag. The driver was issued a warning.
On 3/12/25, at approximately 10:22 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with no headlights. The driver was issued a warning.
On 3/13/25, at 11:50 a.m., an officer responded to the Horseshoe Casino for a lost ring. Upon investigation completion, the item was found and returned to the owner. A report was taken.
On 03/14/25, at 5 p.m., an officer took a phone report regarding a lost pouch containing money and a driver's license. The case remains active for further investigation.
On 3/13/25, at approximately 9:02 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for headlamps required and expired registration. It was found out later the driver had a revoked driver's license. The driver was issued a penalty assessment and a summons for Proof of Service.
On 3/13/25, at approximately 9:42 p.m., Black Hawk Police conducted a traffic top on a vehicle for no visible license plate. The driver was issued a verbal warning.
On 3/14/25, at approximately 12:12 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for not using turn signals. The driver was issued a verbal warning.
On 3/14/25, at approximately 12:25 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with no license plate. Upon contact, the driver did not have a driver's license on his person and no proof of insurance. The driver was issued a county summons.
On 3/14/25, at approximately 1:35 a.m., Black Hawk Police were flagged down by a female party to report her cell phone was lost at the Ameristar Casino. After investigation, the cell phone was not found.
On 3/14/25, at 1:45 a.m., officers were flagged down by a party regarding a suspicious occurrence at the Lodge Casino parking lot.
On 3/14/25, at 1:47 a.m., officers were flagged down by a male outside the Lodge Casino. The male party wanted to report a stolen vehicle which was on scene in the VIP lot. Upon further investigation, the male party had a warrant for his arrest. The male was then transported to the Gilpin County Jail.
On 3/14/25, at 3:18 a.m., officers responded to the Ameristar Casino on a report of an unconscious male who was breathing and vomiting. Two male parties were assessed by medical personnel. One party was transported to the hospital.
On 3/14/25, at approximately 4:18 a.m., officers responded to 113 Wallens Place, Black Hawk, to assist the Gilpin County Sheriff's office with a burglary in progress. After clearing the property, it was secured, and deputies cleared officers from the call.
On 3/14/25, at 5:30 a.m., officers responded to the Horseshoe Casino on the report of a disturbance. After investigation, it was determined there was a verbal argument and nothing criminal had occurred. Officers did a civil standby while property was exchanged.
On 3/14/25, at approximately 12 p.m., officers responded to the Ameristar Casino in reference to a subject on the property that had previously been issued a criminal trespass. The subject was located and issued a summons.
On 3/14/25, at 12:32 p.m., Black Hawk Police responded to mile marker 5 on Highway 119 to assist Colorado State Patrol troopers on a traffic stop. One male was issued a traffic summons, and a female was arrested on a warrant.
On 3/14/25, at 10:26 p.m., officers responded to the Ameristar Casino on a report of found drugs. Based on surveillance review, a male suspect was located and was later contacted by officers. The male suspect also had a fraudulent driver's license in his possession. The male suspect was issued a Gilpin County summons for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and Criminal Impersonation. A report was taken.
On 3/15/25, at 2:30 a.m., officers contacted the vehicle at the Monarch Casino parking garage. The vehicle was occupied and the subject was arrested after providing officers with a fictitious name. The vehicle was impounded. A report was completed.
On 3/15/25, at 2:37 a.m., Black Hawk Police responded to the Ameristar Casino on a 911 investigation. Dispatch advised that a female party called and was heard crying before disconnecting. Upon further investigation, the female caller was contacted, and it was determined that she had misdialed.
On 3/15/25, at 12:30 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on Highway 119 at approximately mile marker 5.4. The vehicle was following too closely. The driver was issued a verbal warning for following too closely and issued a summons for an expired license plate and no proof of insurance.
On 3/15/25, at 1:10 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with an expired license plate. The driver was issued a summons for expired plates.
On 3/15/25, at 1:29 p.m., Black Hawk Police took a phone report regarding stolen cash out of a returned wallet. This case will remain active for further investigation.
On 3/15/25, at 6:28 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with no license plate at Miners Road and Main Street. Upon contact, the driver handed officers a temporary Colorado tag from the front windshield of the vehicle. The driver was issued a verbal warning.
On 3/15/25, at 7:22 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Ameristar Casino on a report of a disturbance. Officers could not locate the parties and patrolled the area. Officers located the parties at Miners Road and Main Street. An investigation of the incident was conducted and during the investigation, it was determined that there were no elements of a crime. The two parties were released.
On 3/15/25, at approximately 10:59 p.m., officers responded to the Ameristar Casino on a report of a male party taking inappropriate pictures of women. Upon investigation, the male did not violate a criminal act and was trespassed by the casino for 90 days.
On 3/15/25, at approximately 11 p.m., officers responded to the Ameristar Casino on a report of a hit-and-run. Security staff made the initial report, and a report was taken.
On 3/16/25, at 2:31 a.m., officers responded to the Ameristar Casino to assist the Colorado Division of Gaming who requested emergent cover. When officers arrived, they assisted the Division of Gaming investigators and Ameristar security escort a disgruntled person off of the property.
On 3/16/25, at 3:21 a.m., officers initiated a traffic stop on Hwy 119 and Main Street. The driver was contacted and released on a verbal warning.
On 3/16/25, at 4:17 a.m., Black Hawk Police responded to the Horseshoe Casino on a report of a trespass. Once on scene, officers made contact with a male suspect and confirmed that he had been trespassed from the casino. The male suspect was issued a municipal summons, and a report was taken.
On 3/16/25, at approximately 7:33 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at Highway 119 and mile marker 5.8, for a broken driver's side headlight. Officers gave the driver a verbal warning.
On 3/16/25, at 7:41 p.m., officers were advised of a possible road rage incident that occurred on Highway 119. Officers located the suspect vehicle and further investigated. It was determined that there were no charges and it was a mutual event. Warnings were issued to all parties involved and officers cleared the scene.
On 3/16/25, at approximately 10:10 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at Highway 119 and mile marker 5.8 for an expired license plate. Officers gave a verbal warning.
On 3/16/25, at approximately 10:20 p.m., officers were dispatched to Ameristar Casino for property theft. After the investigation, the suspect left the property. Officers were able to identify the suspects.
On 3/16/25, officers were dispatched to 488 Main Street, on a report of a hit-and-run with suspect information. Officers arrived and the suspect had already left the area. Officers are actively investigating the incident.
On 3/17/25, at approximately 3:24 a.m., officers were at the Ameristar Casino when they were asked by surveillance to help with a drunk party that ran past security onto the casino floor. Officers were able to talk to the party and get them to go back up to their hotel room.
On 3/17/25, at approximately 6:32 a.m., officers from the Black Hawk Police Department and deputies from the Gilpin County Sheriff's Office responded to a structure fire in Central City. After several hours, the Central City, Black Hawk, and Clear Creek Fire Departments worked together to control and extinguish the fire.
On 3/17/25, Black Hawk Police took a report of a theft that had occurred at 990 Miners Road. There is no suspect information at this time. The case is active.
On 3/17/25, at approximately 6:05 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at Highway 119, mile marker 5.8, for failing to stop at the stop sign on the 100 block of Miners Road while coming out of the Horseshoe Casino garage. Officers gave the driver a verbal warning.
On 3/17/25, at 7:57 p.m., officers were dispatched to a report of found property at 300 Main Street that contained drugs inside. Officers arrived and confirmed the report. The owner/suspect arrived on scene to collect the property and was issued a summons for the drugs.
On 3/17/25, at approximately 9:56 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Ameristar Casino for lost property. Once officers arrived and investigated, they determined that there was no crime.
On 3/18/25, at 12:06 a.m., officers observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed southbound at the 400 block of Main Street. Officers initiated a traffic stop as the vehicle turned southbound onto Highway 119. Officers issued a verbal warning and cleared the scene.
On 3/18/25, at approximately 5:11 p.m., officers responded to an active disturbance in Central City. This case was forwarded to the Gilpin County Sheriff's Office.
On 3/18/25, at 5:38 p.m., Black Hawk Police were dispatched to 488 Main Street on a theft report. Officers commenced an investigation and discovered the reporting party left his wallet in his vehicle. A theft did not occur.
On 3/19/25, at 1:44 a.m., an officer observed a vehicle parked in front of the Silver Gulch Radio Tower gate off the Avenue of All-Stars. The parties were not committing criminal acts and were engaged in personal relations in a secluded area. The parties were told to leave.
On 3/19/25, at 3 a.m., Black Hawk Police responded to the Lady Luck Casino on the report of a hit-and-run traffic accident that had occurred in the parking lot and caused damage to city property. There is no suspect information.
On 3/19/25, an officer met with a party at the police station who wished to report fraudulent activity. The person's credit card had been fraudulently used on 2/26/25, at the Gilpin Casino. There is no suspect information.
On 3/19/25, at 3:46 p.m., an officer responded to the Monarch Casino on a report regarding a stolen license plate. Surveillance video was reviewed, but the suspect has not been identified. This case will remain active for further investigation.
On 3/19/25, at approximately 7:06 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with a license plate that had expired since 5/24. The officer issued a citation and released the driver.
On 3/19/25, at approximately 9:36 p.m., officers responded to 111 Richman Street on a report of found drugs. The suspect was contacted, issued a summons, and released.
On 3/19/25, at approximately 11:20 p.m., Black Hawk Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with no visible license plate. The officer later released the driver with a verbal warning.
On 3/20/25, at approximately 3:04 a.m., Black Hawk Police was dispatched to the Ameristar Casino for a possible assault. Officers arrived and spoke with the victims. After the investigation, one victim didn't want to press charges, the suspect was located at the Lodge Casino. When officers contacted the vehicle, it was observed that the license plate was expired. A female driver was contacted and issued a Gilpin County penalty assessment for operating a motor vehicle with expired plates.

On 3/21/25, at approximately 10:32 a.m., Black Hawk PD communications advised that a complainant was requesting to speak with an officer in regard to possible damage to his motor vehicle. After the subject met with an officer at the Lodge Casino, and after an investigation, the complaint was determined to be unfounded.
On 3/21/25, Black Hawk Police assisted the Division of Gaming by making contact with a subject of interest. The Division of Gaming wanted to speak to the gentleman in regard to a TITO theft. After clearing the subject through communications, the subject was released from the scene without incident.

On 3/21/25, at 7:52 p.m., officers observed a vehicle traveling westbound on Gregory Street without their headlights on. A female driver was contacted and was given a verbal warning.
On 3/21/25, at 10:38 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that performed an illegal U-turn at the 400 block of Main Street. While officers were following the vehicle, they observed the vehicle traveling 35 mph in a posted 15 mph zone. Upon contact, the driver did not have insurance for the vehicle. The driver was issued a summons.
On 3/21/25, at 8:20 p.m., Black Hawk Police responded to the Horseshoe Casino on a report of stolen property. Once on scene, it was determined that a hotel room was double booked, and birthday items were placed inside the room prior to the original guests' arrival. The current hotel guests were contacted, and all the birthday items were returned to the original guest that they were intended for.
On 3/22/25, at 12:09 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a truck after observing it failing to maintain its lane multiple times while traveling southbound on Highway 119. Upon approaching the vehicle, officers noticed no signs of impairment or other violations. The driver was released on a verbal warning.
On 3/22/25, at 12:25 a.m., officers contacted a traffic stop after observing the vehicle run a red light at the intersection of Gergory and Main Streets. Upon approaching the driver, officers explained the violation and asked for their license and registration. The driver acknowledged the mistake and apologized. On 3/22/25, at 4:33 a.m., Black Hawk Police was dispatched on a welfare check on an intoxicated female who was walking east on Main Street. Officers located the female party who was later transported to the hospital by medical personnel.
On 3/22/25, at 10:51 a.m., an officer was on routine patrol in the Monarch Casino garage when he observed a fraudulent/forged Colorado temporary license plate. The plate was seized. The owner or current user of the vehicle was not identified.
On 3/22/25, at 11:41 a.m., an officer was on a license plate reader (LPR) sweep at the Horseshoe Casino. A vehicle came back as possibly stolen but dispatch confirmed it was not. The driver, who was sleeping in his vehicle, was contacted. The driver had paperwork showing ownership and the LPR data was inaccurate. No action taken.
On 3/22/25, at 3 p.m., officers responded to Bally's North Casino on the report of lost property. A female lost her purse, which was located shortly afterwards.
On 3/22/25, at approximately 3:54 p.m., Black Hawk Police was dispatched to a fight in progress between a mother and daughter in the parking lot of the Lady Luck Casino. Both were physically fighting and it appeared to be mutual combat. The mother was transported to this hospital for evaluation and the daughter was released from the scene. No charges filed.
On 3/22/25, at 9:33 p.m., officers observed a vehicle swerving between lanes without signaling, going southbound on Highway 119. Due to concern for the driver's ability to maintain control, a traffic stop was conducted. A male driver was contacted and after further investigation it was determined the driver was not impaired. The male driver was given a verbal warning.
On 3/22/25, at approximately 9:59 p.m., officers took a hit-and-run phone report that occurred at the Monarch Casino on 3/21/25. A report was taken.
On 3/22/25, at 10:01 p.m., officers responded to mile marker 5.8 on Highway 119 to assist the Colorado State Patrol contact a possible intoxicated driver. The suspected intoxicated driver was located, and a traffic stop was conducted due to the driver's vehicle having expired tags. The Colorado State Patrol performed an investigation and determined that the driver was not intoxicated. The officer issued the driver a verbal warning for the expired tags.
On 3/22/25, at 11:30 p.m., Black Hawk Police was dispatched to the Red Dolly Casino on a report of a theft. Officers identified and later located the suspect at the Ameristar Casino. Officers retrieved the stolen property and returned it to the victim.
On 3/23/25, at 2:19 a.m., Black Hawk Police responded to a disturbance at the Monarch Casino. Security responded to a hotel room after receiving complaints about noise and disruptive behavior from the room. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a male and female. After speaking with both parties and assessing the situation, officers determined that no further action was necessary. As a result, they both agreed to stay in the room.
On 3/23/25, at approximately 10:50 a.m., an officer responded to the Ameristar Casino on the report of a stolen license plate. The plate had been stolen from the Horseshoe Casino parking garage.
On 3/23/25, at approximately 2:59 p.m., an officer responded to the Ameristar Casino on a report of a counterfeit $100 bill. The bill was seized and booked into evidence.
On 3/23/25, at approximately 6:42 p.m., Black Hawk Police were dispatched to a hit-and-run accident at the Ameristar Casino on level seven of the garage. Once officers arrived, they were able to determine who the suspect was. Officers are waiting to get in contact with the suspect.
On 3/23/25, at 8:34 p.m., officers were dispatched to a report of damaged property at 111 Richman Street. Officers conducted an investigation and exchanged involved party information.
On 3/24/25, at approximately 2:36 a.m., officers were stopped by a citizen who asked for help finding their friend. After further investigation, the friend was able to be reached by phone and was safe. The citizen was given a courtesy ride back to the Ameristar to go back to her hotel room.
On 3/24/25, at approximately 6:47 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at Miners Mesa Road and Main Street for a temporary tag that expired as of 11/2024. The driver did have a current plate, but did not put it on his vehicle. The driver was given a verbal warning.

On 3/25/25, at 2:04 a.m., Black Hawk Police were dispatched to 261 Main Street on a report of a disturbance. Officers arrived and conducted an investigation. Both parties involved assured that there was no criminal act that took place. Officers released both parties and cleared the scene.
On 3/25/25, at approximately 6 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Monarch Casino for a hit-and-run in the valet entrance. Once the officers investigated the accident, it was determined that the suspect headed towards the Ameristar Casino. Officers were able to locate the suspect and place them under arrest for DUI, Careless Driving, and Hit-and-Run. The suspect was booked and transported to the hospital, where they were released with a summons.
On 3/26/25, at approximately 1:42 a.m., Black Hawk Police were dispatched to Bally's parking garage for a previously trespassed suspect located by the valet on the second floor. When officers arrived, they were able to get the suspect to leave the property.

Upon further investigation, the female explained that she had taken a prescription medication and began feeling unwell. She clarified that her initial report was made out of concern, but she did not believe she needed police assistance. After assessing the situation, officers determined no criminal activity had occurred.

The male party was issued a municipal summons for trespass and was transported to the hospital by Gilpin County Paramedics for intoxication.

Once the officers arrived, they called for medical assistance to determine whether the party could care for themselves. After being cleared by medics, the party was sent back to their room with a friend.

Once officers arrived, they determined the female party was intoxicated and was having a mental health crisis. Officers contacted medical, where she was cleared. The female party left in a Lyft ride back to Denver.
