On 7/1/23, at approximately 2:30 a.m., an officer was flagged down near the Dakota Lot. The party said someone stole their dog out of their truck, but as the officer and the reporting party spoke, they remembered that they left their dog at home.
On 7/1/23, at approximately 3:30 a.m., an officer responded to a REDDI report at the Ameristar Casino. The officer observed the vehicle leaving the garage and initiated a traffic stop on Highway 119. The officer contacted the driver and didn't observe signs of intoxication. The driver and passengers left.
On 7/1/23, Black Hawk officers responded to Bally's West on a report of a counterfeit bill. Officers collected the bill and booked it into evidence.
On 7/1/23, at approximately 11 a.m., Black Hawk officers responded to the post office to locate a vehicle for a possible intoxicated party. The officers contacted the party inside the post office who was negative for DUI.
On 7/1/23, at approximately 1:18 p.m., Black Hawk officers responded to a theft at the Bull Durham Casino. Officers contacted the victim who recovered their phone from casino employees. The officers then spoke with the suspect and advised them to return found items immediately. The party was then advised of their trespass warning from casino staff, and issued the remaining funds on their players account in the form of cash. The party was then escorted off the property.
On 7/1/23, Black Hawk officers were advised of a traffic complaint from Colorado State Patrol troopers. The officers located the vehicle as it was traveling north on Highway 119. The vehicle turned onto Richman Street and then Main Street. The vehicle was stopped in the Dakota Lot. The driver was cited for failing to present immediate evidence of insurance upon request and operating a motor vehicle with expired plates. The driver was issued Gilpin County Sumile markerons GC11869.
On 7/2/23, Black Hawk officers conducted a traffic stop on Highway 119 at mile marker 5.8. Officers released the vehicle on a verbal warning.
On 7/2/23, Officers were dispatched to a phone theft report at the Monarch Casino. A report was taken and the case is currently active.
On 7/2/23, Black Hawk officers contacted a party who had opened their bag at the security kiosk in the Ameristar Casino where a security guard stated they may have seen a meth pipe. A consent search yielded no contraband.
On 7/2/23, Black Hawk officers responded to the Monarch Casino on a report of drugs found inside a wallet that was turned into the lost and found. Upon investigation, the owner of the wallet was located and issued a Gilpin County summons.
On 7/3/23, at approximately 1 a.m., a Black Hawk officer responded to the Horseshoe Casino on a report of stolen money. The officer later identified a suspect who later turned themself in and was jailed.
On 7/3/23, Black Hawk officers responded to the Ameristar Casino on a report of a suspicious party walking the halls of the hotel. Upon arrival, officers contacted the party and concluded that the party was not dangerous. Officers escorted the party off the property.
On 7/3/23, an officer assisted the Gilpin County Sheriff's Office with an in-progress domestic violence call. One of the involved parties was arrested for violation of a protection order and was transported by a deputy to the Gilpin County Jail.
On 7/3/23, an officer responded to the parking garage at the Ameristar Casino for a possible vehicle hit and run. Upon investigation, no accident was observed and a report was taken.
On 7/3/23, Black Hawk officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the parking garage at the Ameristar Casino. The suspect and victim had left the scene by the time officers arrived. An investigation determined a crime had been committed and a warrant was issued for the suspect.
On 7/4/23, at approximately 8:15 a.m., a Black Hawk officer responded to the parking garage at the Carriage House for damage to a fire extinguisher cabinet. A report was taken and a CIRSA form was completed.
On 7/4/23, a Black Hawk officer pulled over a Winnebego for failure to display license plates. The driver license was suspended and carried no insurance on the vehicle. A summons was issued.
On 7/4/23, an officer responded to the Monarch Casino on a report of an intoxicated party causing a disturbance. Two parties were escorted off the property.
On 7/4/23, a Black Hawk officer responded to the Horseshoe Casino on a report of a stolen cell phone. An investigation discovered that the phone had been turned into the cashier's cage. The phone was returned to the owner.
On 7/4/23, Black Hawk officers made a traffic stop on a black 2020 RAM 5500 pick-up truck for unsafe lane changes. The driver was released on a verbal warning.
On 7/5/23, at approximately 11:29 p.m., Black Hawk officers responded to the Monarch Casino on a report of an intoxicated party. The intoxicated party was later identified and officers were able to get them a room to stay for the night.
On 7/4/23, at approximately 11:48 p.m., Black Hawk officers responded to a call of an intoxicated party having trouble walking southbound on Main Street. Upon contact, officers were able to identify the party and have them call a sober party to come to pick them up.
On 7/5/23, Black Hawk officers responded to the Horseshoe Casino on the report of an intoxicated party screaming at the reporting party. Black Hawk officers later contacted the intoxicated party and separated the two parties. The Victim/Reporting party left the scene and the intoxicated party left the scene.
On 7/5/23, at approximately 1:46 a.m., Black Hawk officers responded to the Monarch Casino to assist another agency referencing an ID check of a party who was claiming a jackpot. Officers were unable to confirm if the party's permanent resident card was valid and advised security to notify gaming through their online notification form.
On 7/5/23, at approximately 2:10 a.m., Black Hawk officers were approached by a party on the gaming floor of the Monarch Casino who was stating that they had lost their gold iPhone 14 while playing the slot machines. Officers took down their information, filed a case report, and assured the party that they would ask surveillance to look into the missing phone.
On 7/5/23, at approximately 2:54 a.m., a Black Hawk officer responded to the Monarch Casino to provide assistance to a motorist. The officer was successful in gaining access to the vehicle for the owner.
On 7/5/23, at approximately 10:32 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Monarch Casino for a firearm found inside of room 602. The firearm was booked into evidence for safekeeping. The owner was later notified.
On 7/4/23, the victim was playing on the slot machines when she left her phone on the seat and a woman next to her stole it. There is suspect information.
On 7/5/23, Black Hawk officers were called to the 200 block of Main Street on a report of someone experiencing a mental health crisis. The subject was located and transported to the hospital for evaluation.
On 7/5/23, officers were dispatched to an intoxicated person at the Ameristar Casino. Officers located the subject on the 22nd floor. The party was lying down and had fallen and hit their head. They were transported to the hospital by paramedics.
On 7/5/23, at around 10:47 p.m., Black Hawk officers conducted a traffic stop on the 400 block of Main Street for a vehicle with its headlights off. Officers cleared it with a verbal warning.
On 7/5/23, at approximately 11:57 p.m., a Black Hawk officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with a broken headlamp. The officer gave the driver a verbal warning for the broken headlamp and advised them to get it fixed.
On 7/5/23, Black Hawk officers were conducting an area check at the Ameristar Casino where they located a stolen vehicle. Officers contacted two suspects and arrested one for motor vehicle theft. The suspect was booked into Gilpin County Jail without incident.
On 7/6/23, at approximately 12:29 a.m., an officer was dispatched for a counterfeit bill at the Ameristar Casino. The officer contacted the subject who advised they had just received the bill from the Grand Z Casino.
On 7/6/23, at approximately 2:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to an intoxicated party who was refusing to leave the casino floor. Officers arrived and the party left without incident to their room in the hotel.
On 7/6/23, an officer responded to a suspicious vehicle. The subject was contacted and advised that they had taken their dog to use the bathroom.
On 7/6/23, the Black Hawk Fire Department reported that hail damage had occurred on one of its vehicles during a storm on 7/4/23. A report was taken.
On 7/6/23, at approximately 12:06 p.m., officers responded to a reported hit and run at the Monarch Casino. The caller stated that a red Toyota Camry was seen striking a light pole with his vehicle then proceeded to enter the parking structure. After reviewing surveillance footage and searching for the vehicle, officers were able to locate and arrest the driver for DUI.
On 7/6/23, at approximately 5:05 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Ameristar Casino on a report of a counterfeit bill with a suspect still on the scene. Officers identified the individual and took a report. On 7/6/23, at 7:39 p.m., officers were dispatched to the gaming floor of Bally's West on a report of a suspicious circumstance. No criminal activity was found to have occurred. The subject's welfare was checked and they were ejected from the casino.
On 7/6/23, at 8:50 p.m., officers were dispatched on an assist in reference to a lockout. The vehicle was successfully opened. The reporting party was very appreciative.
On 7/6/23, at approximately 10:06 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the Monarch Casino for a fraudulent ID card. The officer met with the reporting party who advised that a third party contractor was using a fake ID. The ID was confiscated, pictures of the suspect were taken, and a right index finger print was obtained.
On 7/6/23, at approximately 11:55 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the Monarch Casino on a report of a trespass. The subject was issued summons MC 108892 for trespassing with a return court date of August 30 at 1 p.m.
On 7/7/23, at approximately 11:21 p.m., officers observed a vehicle traveling southbound on Highway 119 and Miners Road with an expired temporary registration. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was cited.
On 7/7/23, officers stopped a vehicle for failing to use its blinker on two separate occasions. The vehicle stopped and the driver was given a warning.
On 7/7/23, officers responded to the Horseshoe Casino on a welfare check. The party was arrested for five outstanding warrants.
On 7/7/23, Black Hawk officers responded to a report of an abandoned bicycle found at the Hidden Treasure Trailhead. The bicycle was taken for safekeeping.
On 7/7/23, an officer responded to the Ameristar Casino on a report of drugs found in a hotel room. The drugs were left behind in the room's safe. They were seized and booked into evidence. Four possible suspects have been identified and will be contacted.
On 7/7/23, at 4:36 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Main Street to check the welfare of an individual by the creek. The party was contacted and checked okay. Officers cleared the incident with no further action.
On 7/7/23, at 5:10 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Horseshoe Casino on a report of a lost phone. Surveillance video showed the phone being turned in and the property owner collected back their belongings.
On 7/7/23, officers responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of a party using a fraudulent ID. The ID was confiscated and released with a warning. A report was taken.
On 7/7/23, Black Hawk officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at mile marker 5 on Highway 119. Officers released the driver with a verbal warning.
On 7/7/23, at approximately 11:12 a.m., officers were dispatched to assist a party that locked their car keys in their vehicle. Officers arrived on scene at approximately 11:18 a.m. to assist and were able to successfully unlock the vehicle for this party.
On 7/8/23, at 1:30 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction at Miners Road and Bobtail Road. The driver was released with a verbal warning.
On 7/8/23, Black Hawk officers spoke with an Ameristar Casino employee about an event that occurred on 7/7/23. The contact was consensual.
On 7/8/23, at 4:07 p.m., officers were called to the Wild Card Casino for a report of a counterfeit bill. The bill was seized and a report was issued.
On 7/8/23, at 6:22 p.m., Black Hawk officers observed a license plate that was previously reported stolen at the Ameristar Casino. The plate was able to be removed and a suspect was unable to be identified.
On 7/8/23, at 7:30 p.m., officers were called to the 100 block of Main Street on a report of a theft. A suspect was identified and a summons was issued.
On 7/8/23, at approximately 10:43 p.m., an officer checked the welfare of a party sleeping in his car at the trailhead. The male said he was tired after delivering groceries and fell asleep.
On 7/8/23, officers responded to the Monarch Casino to contact a female from a TITO theft at the Horseshoe Casino. The female paid back the money, and a report was completed for the Division of Gaming.
On 7/8/23, Black Hawk officers received a report from the Brighton Police Department of a possible suicidal and missing person in Black Hawk. The officer conducted a search of the city and located the male. He was not in destress and was not suicidal. Officers advised Brighton Police Department and the missing person was removed from the system.
On 7/9/23, officers responded to the Ameristar Casino on the report of an intoxicated party harassing casino staff. The staff member didn't want to pursue charges, and the female party was provided a courtesy ride to the Horseshoe Casino. A report was taken.
On 7/9/23, at about 5:08 a.m., an officer was approached by an employee from the Lodge Casino who locked his keys in his car in the Dakota lot. The officer was able to open his car with a slim jim.
On 7/9/23, an officer responded to a medical call at 131 Marchant Street. A report was taken.
On 7/9/23, at approximately 4:29 p.m., officers responded to Main and Richman Street for a motorist assist. The vehicle battery was given a jump, and the driver went on their way.
On 7/10/23, at approximately 2:30 a.m., a Black Hawk officer responded to the Grand Z Casino to conduct a motorist assist. The assist was successful. The officer's body-worn camera was not activated.
On 7/10/23, an officer assisted the Gilpin County Sheriff in locating a wanted party at the Monarch Casino. The party was found and taken into custody.
On 7/10/23, an officer took a phone report for a lost Colorado driver's license that occurred at the Ameristar Casino.

On 7/10/23, at approximately 5:29 p.m., officers were dispatched to the parking garage at the Ameristar Casino on a report of animal abuse. The owner and the animal were located and the report was determined to be unfounded.
On 7/10/23, at approximately 8:07 p.m., an officer responded to 131 Marchant Street on a medical call to assist the Gilpin County Paramedics. The party was transported to the hospital.
On 7/10/23, at approximately 9:43 p.m., Black Hawk police officers responded to the Monarch Buffet on the report of a dine and dash. After investigations, officers discovered the parties did pay the full amount of the bill, and no one was charged.
On 7/10/23, Black Hawk police officers responded to the Monarch Casino on a missing persons call. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the missing person's mother, who advised that her daughter's last known location was at the Monarch Casino. Upon further investigation, the missing party was located in a room and was contacted. After being deemed well and safe, the case was closed.
On 7/11/23, at approximately 12:58 a.m., Black Hawk police officers responded to the Monarch Casino on a report of stolen items. Officers were unable to identify suspects, leads were developed, and an investigation is ongoing.
On 7/11/23, at approximately 3 a.m., Black Hawk officers responded to the Ameristar Casino for an ID check of two parties who presented the same ID at table games. Upon arrival, Black Hawk officers gathered the parties' information and advised the parties that the Division of Gaming would be in contact in the coming days.
On 7/11/23, an officer was dispatched to the area of the Lodge Casino for a suspicious party. The party was located and a report was taken.
On 7/11/23, an officer from the Black Hawk police department responded to the Monarch Hotel on a report of a firearm found in a hotel room safe. The firearm was booked into evidence for safekeeping and may be returned to the owner.
On 7/11/23, at approximately 8:07 p.m., officers responded to Main and Richman Street for a welfare check. Officers were advised that a party was sleeping on the ground inside Bally's parking garage. The party did not cooperate and refused medics. The party was told they could not sleep on the ground and they said they would go home, then left.
On 7/11/23, officers responded to the Gilpin Casino valet for a lockout. The vehicle was unlocked and the party went on his way.
On 7/12/23, an officer responded to the Horseshoe parking garage for a party that was screaming. The party was located and transported to the hospital. A report was taken.
On 7/12/23, officers responded to the 400 block of Chase Street on a report of a neighbor who had rummaged through the purse of the reporting party. A report was taken.
On 7/12/23, at approximately 12:52 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Monarch Casino on a report of lost property.
On 7/12/23, at approximately 4:23 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle for an expired plate. A verbal warning was given.
On 7/12/23, at 7:24 p.m., Black Hawk officers observed a license plate removed from a vehicle in the parking garage at Bally’s Casino. The plate was logged in for safekeeping.
On 7/12/23, at approximately 8:12 p.m., officers were on routine patrol when they observed a vehicle with an expired temporary license plate. A traffic stop was made and the officer issued the driver a verbal warning.
On 7/12/23, at 10:48 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on the 400 block of Main Street in Black Hawk for a traffic violation. The driver was released with a verbal warning.
On 7/12/23, approximately 11:30 p.m., officers checked the welfare of an individual in the parking garage at the Ameristar Casino. The party was determined to be okay. Officers cleared the scene on a contact report.
On 7/13/23, the Black Hawk police department responded to a report of an intoxicated party at the Monarch Casino. The party had fallen several times, including once that caused damage to a vehicle. The party was transported to the hospital and the vehicle's owner was notified of the damage.
On 7/13/23, at 6:16 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on Highway 119 and Gregory Street for a traffic violation. The driver was released on a verbal warning.
On 7/13/23, at approximately 8:21 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with a reported expired license plate. A verbal warning was issued.
On 7/13/23, at about 9:23 p.m., an officer was in the parking garage at the Ameristar Casino on an area check when they observed a party changing his tire. They contacted the party and they said they were okay. The party was given a business card.
On 7/13/23, at 9:34 p.m., on Highway 119 mile marker 5.8, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic infraction. The driver was released on a warning.
On 7/13/23, an officer was notified that there was damage to vehicle #13. An officer completed a property damage report.
On 7/13/23, at approximately 10:59 p.m., officers were dispatched for a suspicious phone report. An officer spoke with a party who advised they thought they may have been poisoned by a friend while at the Monarch Casino.
On 7/14/23, a party called the Black Hawk police department to report that they believed that they lost their wallet at the Monarch Casino on 7/4/23. A report was taken.
On 7/14/23, at 9:50 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at Highway 119 and Miners Road for a traffic infraction. The driver was released with a citation.
On 7/14/23, at approximately 10:08 p.m., officers contacted a suspicious vehicle parked in Mountain High Park parking lot. The subject was contacted and cleared without incident.
On 7/14/23, at about 10:29 p.m., an officer observed a silver sedan with an expired registration going south on Highway 119 at Miners Road. An officer initiated a traffic stop and contacted the driver who had a valid driver's license and insurance. A county summons was issued.
On 7/14/23, at about 10:29 p.m., an officer observed a vehicle traveling on Gregory Street towards Cooper Street without headlights or tail lights. An officer initiated a stop and contacted the driver who provided copies of their identification and insurance. The driver was an employee at the Monarch Casino and said they borrowed their son's car and was having trouble turning the lights on.
On 7/15/23, at 12:29 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle for a violation. The driver was released with a verbal warning.
On 7/15/23, Black Hawk officers responded to the Grand Z Casino for a report of a physical disturbance inside the hotel. Officers located a suspect in assistance to Gilpin County Sheriff’s Deputies. The party was booked on a warrant and new charges related to domestic violence.
On 7/15/23, Black Hawk officers were dispatched for a REDDI report at the parking garage at the Ameristar Casino. The vehicle was contacted and deemed inoperable. The driver of the vehicle appeared to not be under the influence of alcohol.
On 7/15/23, the Black Hawk police department responded to the Dakota parking lot on a request from the Gilpin Casino to check on a party that had laid down on the gaming floor, then was later observed in a car consuming suspected drugs. Three parties were contacted in the car. One party was found to have drug paraphernalia and was arrested on outstanding warrants. Another party was issued a summons for possessing a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and the other party was released with no charges.
On 7/15/23, at approximately 11 a.m., an officer completed a phone report of a domestic violence incident that occurred at the Monarch Casino.
On 7/15/23, at 6:02 p.m., officers responded to the garage at the Horseshoe Casino to take a report of damaged property. A suspect has not been identified.
On 7/15/23, at 6:55 p.m., officers were flagged down by a citizen to report lost property. Officers completed a report.
On 7/15/23 at 9:20 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Monarch Casino to take a gaming violation report. Officers collected information and completed a report to be forwarded to the gaming division.
On 7/16/23, at 12:15 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at Bobtail Road and Gregory Street. The driver was issued a summons.
On 7/16/23, Black Hawk officers responded to the Ameristar Casino on a report of a theft. Officers spoke with the victim who reported someone stole their purse and phone. The suspect then returned to the property when their friends confronted the suspect. The party reported a credit card was missing from their purse when it was returned.
On 7/16/23, officers were dispatched to the Monarch Casino in regards to a welfare check related to a flagged account. The party was contacted and was fine.
On 7/16/23, Black Hawk officers were dispatched to the Monarch Casino on a report of a lost wallet. Officers contacted the victim who stated they had lost a wallet they had made. Officers contacted two Monarch employees who picked the wallet up. The employees had thrown the wallet away thinking it was trash. There was no criminal intent and the wallet was not recovered even after searching the trash.
On 7/16/23, an officer responded to the parking garage at the Lodge Casino for a lockout assist.
On 7/16/23, at approximately 3:57 p.m., officers responded to the Dakota parking lot for a motorist assist.
On 7/16/23, at approximately 10:51 p.m., Black Hawk police officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was visibly going over 15mph. Officers later cleared the driver of the vehicle on a verbal warning.
On 7/17/23, at approximately 12:07 a.m., officers observed an orange Subaru Crosstrek on the top floor of the parking structure at the Carriage House that had the driver front door and trunk open, along with items laid out on the edge. Officers made contact with a party who was with the vehicle. Officers asked what the party was doing as they explained they were charging their belongings. Once dispatch cleared this party, officers advised them to gather their belongings and depart the premises. Officers then cleared the scene with no issues.
On 7/17/23, at approximately 1:24 a.m., Black Hawk officers responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of a trespass. A party was later identified and was issued a summons.
On 7/17/23, at approximately 5:42 a.m., Black Hawk officers were dispatched to the Monarch Casino on a report of a known trespassed party on the smoking patio. Upon arrival, officers identified the party and cited them with a summons.
On 7/17/23, officers from the Black Hawk police department responded to the Monarch Casino on a report of an intoxicated party. Both involved parties were asked to leave the casino property. Neither party drove the vehicle and it was left parked with the Monarch Casino valet. A responsible party was contacted and they advised they would be picking up both involved parties.
On 7/17/23, an officer responded to the parking garage at the Ameristar Casino for damage to a vehicle. A report was taken.
On 7/17/23, an officer responded to Central City for a vehicle lockout assist.
On 7/17/23, at approximately 7:20 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Ameristar Hotel and Casino on a report of stolen money from a wallet. Upon their arrival, officers interviewed the victim and asked questions of their whereabouts the prior evening. After this interview, officers proceeded to the surveillance room to review footage. Upon their conclusion, it was determined that the victim did not have any cash in the wallet, was extremely intoxicated, and wandered back to the house where they misplaced their wallet and cell phone. Those items were then turned into security and returned to the owner.
On 7/17/23, at approximately 11:42 p.m., officers responded to 111 Richman Street on a report of found drugs. Surveillance could not determine who dropped the baggy with the unknown white powdery substance. It was booked in evidence to be destroyed.
On 7/18/23, Black Hawk police officers responded to the parking garage at the Ameristar Casino on a report of a disturbance occurring on the 6th floor of the parking garage. Upon arrival, an officer cleared two parties. One party had a felony warrant out of Denver County and was transported to the jail. The other party was released on scene.
On 7/18/23, an officer contacted a party at the Horseshoe Casino. The party was found to have an active protection order and was in violation. The party was transported to the Gilpin County Jail.
On 7/18/23, an officer responded to the Horseshoe Casino for a reported theft of a coat at the Monarch Casino. A report was taken.
On 7/18/23, at 2:10 p.m., officers responded to the parking garage at the Saratoga Casino on the report of a possible attempted vehicle break-in.
On 7/18/23, at approximately 3:45 p.m., officers responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of a fraudulent ID. A fraudulent ID document was recovered and booked into evidence.
On 7/18/23, officers made contact with a party at the parking structure at the Carriage House. The party was observed walking each floor of the structure, wandering around the premises, and going into the stairwells. Upon police contact, the party gave false identification on multiple occasions. Once officers were able to collect the proper identification for this party, they were advised that they had three outstanding warrants. Officers then transported the party to the Gilpin County Jail on all three warrants, and False Reporting to Authorities.
On 7/18/23, at approximately 11:10 p.m., officers were on foot patrol at the Lodge Casino, and observed a suspect with a warrant. The suspect was taken into custody for the warrant, transported to the Gilpin County Jail, and booked in.
On 7/19/23, at approximately 12:59 a.m., officers responded to a reported vehicle crash at the Coyote Motel. BHPD officers assisted in identifying the driver of the vehicle. Investigation was handled by the Gilpin County Sheriff's Office and Colorado State Patrol.
On 7/19/23, Black Hawk police officers responded to the Monarch Casino on a report of an intoxicated party refusing to leave the property. Upon arrival, officers cleared the party and were able to release them to a sober friend. Officers cleared the call.
On 7/19/23, the Black Hawk police department took a report of damage to a city owned vehicle caused by hail storms that moved through the state in early July.

On 7/20/23, officers responded to the Ameristar Casino in regards to a party refusing to leave and possibly intoxicated. Officers were able to talk to the party and escorted them to their hotel room.
On 7/20/23, the Black Hawk police department responded to a possible explosion at the parking garage at the Bally's Casino. The noise and smoke were believed to have been from a firework being set off. During the investigation, a party was contacted. The party provided a fictitious name to avoid being arrested on outstanding warrants.
On 7/20/23, an officer performed a welfare check on a party in the parking lot at Crook’s Palace. The party was okay.
On 7/20/23, the Black Hawk Police Department responded to a physical disturbance at the Ameristar Casino Hotel. An investigation revealed a physical altercation between a husband and wife and one party was arrested.
On 7/20/23, at 6:43 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Monarch Casino on a report of found drugs. A suspect was contacted and issued a summons.
On 7/20/23, at approximately 7:51 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Monarch Casino on a report of a fraudulent ID card. Upon arrival, officers confiscated the fraudulent ID and issued the suspect a warning.
On 7/20/23, at approximately 8:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Wild Card Casino on a report of a phone theft. Dispatch aired the description of the suspect and officers observed the suspect outside the Saratoga Casino upon their arrival. The suspect was contacted and returned the phone that they had stolen.
On 7/20/23, at 9:25 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Lodge Casino to take a report to forward to the Division of Gaming. Officers collected information and completed a report.
On 7/20/23, at 10:25 p.m., officers contacted an occupied vehicle with a stolen license plate at the parking garage at the Ameristar Casino. The occupant of the vehicle was arrested and booked on multiple charges.
On 7/20/23, officers responded to High Street in regards to a citizen assist. A party called saying they were lost and needed assistance. Once an officer arrived, the officer learned that the vehicle the party was in was stolen. The vehicle was recovered and a report was taken.
On 7/21/23, the Black Hawk Police Department responded to the Bally's North Casino on a report that someone had damaged a slot machine. A suspect was identified, and a report was taken.
On 7/21/23, at approximately 10:14 a.m., an officer responded to the Lady Luck Casino on a report of a stolen cell phone. The suspect stated they accidentally took the phone thinking it was his wife's phone. Their wife advised them it was not their phone and the suspect returned the phone to security a short time later.
On 7/21/23, an officer responded to the Ameristar Casino to assist paramedics with a party that was getting aggressive.
On 7/21/23, at approximately 9:38 p.m., officers were dispatched for a report of a gaming violation. Officers responded and took an incident report as an assist to the Colorado State Gaming Division.
On 7/21/23, officers responded to the Ameristar Casino in regards to a party urinating in public. The party was contacted, cited, and a report was taken.
On 7/21/23, officers were called to the Bally's North Casino to take a report for the Division of Gaming. Information was collected and a report was completed.
On 7/22/23, at 11:18 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Monarch Casino for a report of an intoxicated party refusing to leave. The subject was transported by medics to the hospital.
On 7/22/23, at approximately 12:56 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Monarch Casino in reference to a narcotics violation. Officers responded and reviewed the surveillance video of a suspect who dropped a white bag of suspected drugs onto the casino floor. The party was later contacted and issued a summons for possession of Schedule 2 drugs.
On 7/22/23, Black Hawk officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. The driver was released on the scene with a verbal warning.
On 7/22/23, at approximately 6:17 p.m., officers observed a vehicle with no license plate. A routine traffic stop was made and a verbal warning was issued to the driver.
On 7/22/23, at approximately 8:50 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Horseshoe Casino on a report of an assist to gaming. Upon arrival, officers learned that a male had stolen a Tito ticket from a slot machine.
On 7/23/23, at approximately 12:10 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on Highway 119 and Miners Road on a vehicle with an expired temporary license plate. A verbal warning was issued.
On 7/23/23, officers responded to the Lodge Casino in regards to an ID check. Staff requested that officers check a party's ID because the party allegedly did not look like the picture on the presented ID. The party stated that the picture was from when they were 24 years of age and was now 27 years of age. The party was given a business card and free to leave.
On 7/23/23, Black Hawk officers responded to the Monarch Casino on a report of a disturbance. Officers contacted the two parties. Both were released on scene without being charged.
On 7/23/23, officers responded to the Lodge Casino in regards to found narcotics. Officers later learned that a party attempted to collect the wallet. The party was contacted, identified and released. A report was taken.
On 7/23/23, officers were advised of a party avoiding being identified while on the gaming floor of the Monarch Casino. Security advised a suspect had run from the Monarch Casino to the Horseshoe Casino. The suspect was contacted and gave false identifying information to officers. The suspect was determined to have active felony warrants. The suspect was transported to the jail on the warrants and new charges. A summons was issued.
On 7/23/23, at approximately 9:33 p.m., the Black Hawk Police Department was dispatched to the Ameristar Casino on the report of a guest losing their wallet on the gaming floor. Surveillance was conducting a review to locate the last known location of the wallet, and a lost property police report was filed.
On 7/24/23, an officer responded to the Monarch Casino for an intoxicated party. A report was taken.
On 7/24/23, at 3:53 a.m., officers observed a traffic violation at Richman Street and Highway 119. The driver was issued a verbal warning.
On 7/24/23, at 4:45 a.m., officers observed a traffic violation at Main Street and Highway 119. The driver was given a verbal warning.
On 7/24/23, an officer responded to a medical situation on Chase Street. A report was taken.
On 7/24/23, an officer with the Black Hawk Police Department responded to the Wild Card Casino on a report of a theft of a cell phone. While further investigating the theft, the victim advised their phone had been returned to them.
On 7/24/23, an officer responded to the hotel at the Monarch Casino for found suspected narcotics. A report was taken.
On 7/25/23, an officer with the Black Hawk Police Department responded to the Black Hawk Fire Station on a report of a found dog. The dog's owner was contacted and advised the dog needed to go to the vet immediately. The owner of the dog later provided proof of the vet visit from the same day.
On 7/25/23, an officer responded to a report of a possible stolen vehicle. The vehicle was entered into the NCIC/CCIC system. An officer conducted an area check at the Monarch Casino the next morning and the vehicle was located on level 1 of the parking garage.
On 7/25/23, at approximately 2:14 a.m., officers responded to a disturbance call at the hotel at the Ameristar Casino. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a suspect who had three outstanding warrants. At approximately 2:51 a.m., officers transported the party to the Gilpin County Jail on all three warrants to include a charge of Violation of Protection Order. The party was later transported to Lutheran Medical Center where they were later cleared and booked into the Gilpin County Jail.
On 7/25/23, an officer responded to the Ameristar Hotel for a reported disturbance. Upon investigation completion, two parties were issued a summons.
On 7/25/23, at approximately 3:46 p.m., officers responded to the 200 block of Selak Street on a report of a suspicious party. A party was contacted and released from the scene.
On 7/25/23, at approximately 4:17 p.m., officers responded to 410 Chase Street on a report of a vehicle loaned out that had not been returned. The party who had the car was contacted and agreed to bring the vehicle back.
On 7/25/23, at approximately 8:45 p.m., a Black Hawk officer responded to the Horseshoe Casino on a report of a possible theft. The theft was unfounded and the officer arrested a party on warrants.
On 7/25/23, at approximately 9:57 p.m., officers responded to a reported intoxicated party leaving the Lady Luck Casino. Hotel security reported that the party ran from them from the gaming floor, and they were concerned they would get into a vehicle and drive. Officers arrived on scene, made contact with the party, and ran their information through dispatch. The party was cleared with no wants or warrants. As officers spoke with the party, they advised officers that they were not driving home, and was waiting for their wife to pick him up. At approximately 10:15 p.m., the party's wife arrived and gave them a ride home. All officers cleared the scene at this time with no incident.
On 7/26/23, at approximately 1:34 a.m., a Black Hawk officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle speeding. The officer cleared the driver and released them with a verbal warning.
On 7/26/23, at approximately 5:23 a.m., the Black Hawk Police Department was dispatched to the Monarch Casino on a report of a debit card being stolen. Upon investigation, the debit card was returned to the owner, and no charges were filed against the suspected party.
On 7/26/23, an officer contacted a party at the Sasquatch Casino in regards to a marijuana incident. A report was taken.
On 7/26/23, an officer assisted Gilpin Sheriff's deputies with a suspicious incident in Central City. A report was taken.
On 7/26/23, at approximately 5:48 p.m., an officer made a traffic stop in the 400 block of Main Street. Officers issued a verbal warning.
On 7/26/23, officers were dispatched to an accident at Highway 119 and Miners Road. Officers responded to the accident and found no one was injured. The officer issued a driver a ticket for careless driving.
On 7/26/23, at 11:32 p.m., officers responded to the report of an individual who was trespassing on the Lodge Casino's property. The suspect was provided a warning.
On 7/26/23, officers conducted a welfare check on a party sleeping in his vehicle. A routine clearance revealed an active warrant, and the party was arrested and transported to the Gilpin County Jail.
On 7/27/23, at 08:23 a.m., officers were called to the Horseshoe Casino to check the welfare of a subject. Officers made contact with the subject and took a report of a sex assault and theft that occurred at the Lady Luck Hotel the previous evening. A suspect was identified and the investigation is ongoing.
On 7/27/23, an officer responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of a threatening email sent to a poker room employee.
On 7/27/23, an officer was dispatched to a phone report of lost property. The reporting party advised they lost their wallet while playing slots at the Monarch Casino.
On 7/27/23, at 7:55 p.m., officers responded to the parking garage located at 240 Main Street for the report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, it was determined to be a verbal disagreement. No criminal activity was reported.
On 7/27/23, at approximately 8:52 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop for an expired temporary plate. A verbal warning was issued.
On 7/27/23, at approximately 9:15 a.m., officers observed a vehicle traveling on Highway 119 with no headlights. A verbal warning was issued.
On 7/27/23, Black Hawk officers responded to the Gilpin Casino on a report of a dog wandering the casino floor. Officers collected the dog who had walked into the casino off Main Street. Officers attempted to locate an owner at the nearby casinos but were unuseful. Officers attempted to use a chip reader but the dog was not chipped. Officers transported the dog to Charlie's Place.
On 7/28/23, at approximately 1:21 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Monarch Casino in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, officers determined that the disturbance was only verbal in nature and no arrests were made.
On 7/28/23, Black Hawk officers conducted a traffic stop at mile marker 5.8 on Highway 119. Officers released the driver on a verbal warning.
On 7/28/23, at approximately 4:34 a.m., officers on routine patrol observed a vehicle in the Hidden Treasure Trailhead parking lot. Officers made contact with the vehicle and sole occupant. The occupant was advised that the lot was closed between sunset and sunrise.
On 7/28/23, officers were dispatched to the Dakota Lot in regards to a disturbance. The parties involved were contacted and they both said the incident was verbal only. No crime had occurred.
On 7/28/23, at 7:20 a.m., officers recovered found property turned in by shuttle service employees. The property was logged and a report was completed.
On 7/28/23, at approximately 8:12 p.m., officers initiated a traffic stop with a vehicle believed to be bearing a stolen license plate. It was determined the plate was incorrectly cleared and the driver was released with no action.
On 7/28/23, at 9:04 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation that was observed at Highway 119 and Miners Street. The driver was arrested for narcotics and weapons charges.
On 7/28/23, Black Hawk officers responded to the Monarch Casino on a report of found drugs. Surveillance was able to locate a suspect who was contacted by officers and issued a summons for controlled substance possession.
On 7/29/23, officers were dispatched to the Lodge Casino in regards to an ID check and to assist Colorado Division of Gaming. The suspect was contacted and the officer learned that the suspect was approximately 20 years of age. The suspect presented a fake ID, consumed alcohol, and gambled while on the gaming floor.
On 7/29/23, officers conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle which had two burnt out tail lights. The driver was given a warning.
On 7/29/23, Black Hawk officers recovered $8 in cash. The money was located in the road at the 400 block of Main Street just outside the Monarch Casino. The money was booked into evidence as found property.
On 7/29/23, officers contacted a suspicious vehicle located in Rim Rock parking lot. The occupant was contacted and was fine. They were told they could not camp in the city of Black Hawk and left the parking lot.
On 7/29/23, officers were dispatched to the Ameristar Casino in regards to an intoxicated party. The party entered the garage and got into a vehicle. They were stopped before leaving their parking space. The intoxicated party was given a courtesy ride to the Monarch Casino because Ameristar did not want the party on their property due to being belligerent to staff. Before the party entered a patrol car, a quick pat down of the party was performed for officer safety and to make sure they did not have weapons.
On 7/29/23, at approximately 4:09 a.m., officers contacted a vehicle parked in the overflow lot for the Hidden Treasure Trailhead parking lot. The subject was contacted and officers advised them that lots are closed between sunset and sunrise.
On 7/29/23, officers responded to a report of a hit and run at the Ameristar Casino. A report was taken, but no suspect has been identified.
On 7/29/23, an officer responded to the Horseshoe Casino on the report of stolen property. No suspect was identified in the theft.

On 7/29/23, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Main Street and Miners Road in regards to a stolen vehicle. The victim of the incident was contacted and appeared to have an injury to their face. The suspects and vehicle had already left the scene. A report was taken.
On 7/29/23, at approximately 9:35 p.m., officers were in the area of Miners Road and Main Street when they heard a crash occur at Miners Road and Highway 119. Officers responded and observed a 3-car accident had occurred.
On 7/29/23, Black Hawk officers were dispatched to the Monarch Casino on a report of a counterfeit $20. The officers contacted the party who was in possession of the bill and collected it. No charges were filed.
On 7/29/23, officers responded to the report of a physical disturbance where a party tackled another party. The investigation discovered the second party knocked a separate party down, and the reporting party tackled them to stop them from hurting the separate party. A party was arrested for possession of controlled substance, 3rd degree domestic violence assault, and warrants.
On 7/30/23, officers responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of a minor who used a fake ID to game. This information was forwarded to the Division of Gaming.
On 7/30/23, at 12:03 a.m., officers took a report of a hit-and-run crash at Monarch Casino parking garage. A suspect has been identified.
On 7/30/23, at approximately 6 p.m., officers responded to the Dakota Lot on the report of a suspicious vehicle.

On 7/30/23, at approximately 7:47 p.m., officers responded to the Lodge Hotel & Casino for found drugs. Officers will be attempting to identify and contact the suspect. The items were collected and booked into evidence.
On 7/31/23, at approximately 2:32 a.m., Black Hawk officers were dispatched to the Z Casino on the report of a hit-and-run accident that occurred. Upon arrival, the names of the victims were taken and pictures were to be taken for the report. The investigation is still pending.
On 7/31/23, at approximately 10:20 p.m., officers responded to the Saratoga Casino on a reported verbal argument between two parties. Officers spoke with both parties and asked them to separate. One party departed the Saratoga Casino to avoid conflict.
