Nederland Food Pantry has new executive director

After an extensive search led by the Nederland Food Pantry Board of Directors, we are proud to announce that Nicole Cavalino has accepted the position of Executive Director to begin February 1, 2022. She will succeed Chris Current, who is retiring March 1, after more than 35 years leading the organization.

The Board made this decision based on Cavalino’s demonstrated passion for human services. She possesses the communication and management skills needed to motivate, inspire and empower others to meet our mission to relieve hunger and provide basic needs and support to the Peak to Peak community in a respectful and compassionate manner.

Cavalino is a proven leader with excellent communication skills, and an openness to collaborate with other agencies. She has a record of successful fundraising, managing budgets, motivating and inspiring volunteers, and has existing relationships with many of our partner agencies.

We are confident that Cavalino’s many talents, collaborative and engaging leadership approach, and experience will help us continue Nederland Food Pantry’s mission, while dealing with the challenges and opportunities ahead.

The Executive Director of the Food Pantry, Clothing Closet and Community Gardens is responsible for the overall running of the organization, managing staff and volunteers to provide services to clients, leading fundraising initiatives, developing and maintaining key community relationships, and implementing the Board’s vision and mission.

Chris Current’s last day as Executive Director will be March 1, 2022. We cannot thank her enough for the dedication, passion, compassion, and visionary leadership she has provided since its inception in 1986.
