On 1/1/22, the Black Hawk Police Department (BHPD) responded to the Ameristar Casino smoking patio on a male in distress call. One party was arrested and transported to Gilpin County Jail for obstructing a peace officer.
On 1/1/22, officers observed a suspect vehicle that was involved in the theft of parts from another motor vehicle. The owner of the vehicle was contacted and taken into custody on warrants. At the jail, the male was found to have a bag of a controlled substance in his sock. He was issued a summons for unlawful possession.
On 1/1/22, officers responded to the Ameristar Casino on the report of found drugs. A male party was issued a summons for unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
On 1/3/22, an officer responded to the Black Hawk Post Office for a property damage incident. A report was taken.
On 1/3/22, at approximately 10:02 a.m., a Black Hawk officer completed a phone report of a theft of $500 from a hotel safe. The suspect was identified and later given a summons.
On 01/3/22, at approximately 10:15 p.m., officers responded to the Monarch Casino regarding a violation of a mandatory protection order. The suspect was arrested without incident.
On 1/5/22, a Black Hawk officer observed a male party acting suspiciously behind a building on the Avenue of All Stars. The male and a female party fled the scene. Their vehicle was later located and a second suspect vehicle was identified. The other vehicle was located and the male party was arrested for trespassing, eluding, and driving under restraint. The male party was transported to the Gilpin County Jail.
On 1/5/22, an officer was dispatched to a disturbance in a hotel room at the Ameristar Casino in Black Hawk. An adult female was arrested for harassment and violation of a protection order for domestic violence.
On 1/6/22, the BHPD responded to a report of a bus that was stuck in the 100 block of Richman Street. The bus was found to have slid into a street light pole. There was minor damage to the vehicle’s bumper and no apparent damage to the pole. A report was taken.
On 1/7/22, BHPD officers were dispatched to a disturbance at the Monarch Casino parking garage involving an employee and patron. Both were cited for disturbing the peace.
On 1/7/22, officers responded to the Ameristar Casino on the report of an aggressive guest. A male party was arrested for a warrant.
On 1/8/22, the BHPD responded to the Golden Gates Casino at 261 Main Street in Black Hawk on a physical disturbance report. Parties involved decided not to pursue any criminal charges against each other.
On 1/8/22, officers responded to the Ameristar Casino 111 Richman Street on the report of a physical disturbance. A male party was arrested for harassment and transported to the jail.
On 1/8/22, an officer was conducting an area check of the KMM Parking Garage and observed a suspicious vehicle. A large amount of controlled substances and paraphernalia were found in the vehicle, and a female party was released pending charges. The investigation is ongoing.
On 1/10/22, at 7:18 a.m., an officer responded to the Lodge Casino Dakota parking lot at 255 Main Street for a stolen vehicle. A report taken.
On 1/11/22, at approximately 12:37 a.m., a report was taken at the Isle Casino regarding property damage and theft. An investigation is pending.
On 1/11/22, a BHPD officer was dispatched to the Ameristar Casino for a patron with a gun on their person. The individual was contacted and the weapon was seized.
On 1/11/22, at approximately 9:03 p.m., a BHPD officer was conducting a License Plate Reader Sweep in the parking garage of the Ameristar Casino when they located a stolen vehicle. Suspects were located and taken into custody.
On 1/12/22, the BHPD received a telephone report on a theft of a wallet at the Lady Luck Casino on 340 Main Street. No suspect has been identified at the moment and the case remains an open investigation.
On 1/13/22, a BHPD officer received a harassment report that occurred at the Monarch Casino on 12/21/22. A suspect has been identified and the investigation will remain open.
On 1/14/22, BHPD officers responded to Isle Casino’s parking garage level 2 on a welfare check. One party was arrested for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, possession of a counterfeit bill and other crimes against society.
On 1/14/22, BHPD officers were on a motorist assist at the Dakota parking lot. One male party was later arrested on a misdemeanor assault warrant originating out of Aurora.
On 1/15/22, a BHPD officer responded to the Lodge Casino on the report of a fight in progress. Four Municipal summons were issued for disorderly conduct.
On 1/15/22, at approximately 6:02 p.m., officers responded to a fight in progress at the Ameristar Casino located at 111 Richman Street.
On 1/16/22, at 10:05 p.m., the BHPD was dispatched to the report of a domestic violence incident at the Isle Casino. A suspect was arrested for aggravated assault, harassment, obstruction of justice and resisting police.
On 1/16/22, at approximately 9:06 a.m., an officer responded to the Lady Luck Casino on a report of a vehicle trespass. The case remains open.
On 1/16/22, the BHPD responded to the Lady Luck garage on 333 Main Street for a vehicle break-in. A report taken.
On 1/16/22, at approximately 10:47 p.m., officers responded to 488 Main Street, the Monarch Casino, on a report of found drugs.
On 1/17/22, at approximately 11:35 a.m., BHPD responded to the Ameristar Casino on a report of a stolen wallet. A suspect was later identified and issued a summons for theft.
On 1/17/22, a BHPD officer received a phone report on an unauthorized use of a credit card with the transaction being made on 1/5/22 at the Wild Card Casino on 120 Main Street. The case is under investigation and surveillance video is being collected.
On 1/17/22, an officer responded to the Sasquatch Casino at 125 Gregory Street for an issue over a hamburger. Involved parties were contacted and issued a summons.
On 1/18/22, at approximately 09:13 a.m., an officer responded to the Monarch Casino on a report of a wallet found with several IDs inside. The wallet and IDs were seized.
On 1/18/22, BHPD was dispatched to 240 Main Street, the Lodge Casino, for a found baggie filled with a white substance. A suspect was identified and a summons was issued.
On 1/20/22, at 5:57 p.m., property was stolen from the Monarch Casino. A report was taken by a BHPD officer and the property was later recovered from a suspect who was in possession of over 200 grams of methamphetamine. The substances were seized and the suspect was arrested.
On 1/20/22, at 9:33 a.m., an officer was dispatched to The Lodge Casino for a theft of cash. The suspect fled the scene but identifying information was developed for further investigation.
On 1/20/22, officers responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of a hit and run accident. The vehicle was located driving towards another casino and was issued a municipal summons.
On 1/21/22, officers responded to the Ameristar Casino on the report of a theft. A male party was issued a municipal summons for theft and violation of a protection order.
On 1/21/22, a BHPD detective responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of a hit and run traffic accident. The suspect was contacted and charged for the hit and run and for driving under the influence of alcohol.
On 1/23/22, officers responded to the Lady Luck parking garage on the report of a male and female physically fighting. A female party was taken into custody.
On 1/23/22, at approximately 2 p.m., a BHPD officer responded to the Ameristar Casino Hotel on a report of a gun left inside a hotel room.
On 1/23/22, at approximately 7:35 p.m., officers responded to 101 Main Street, the Saratoga Casino, for a lockout. The vehicle owner was cleared through CCIC/NCIC and came back with a warrant out of Gilpin County. He was arrested and transported to the Gilpin County Jail and booked in on the warrant.
On 1/23/22, an officer was listening to the radio and heard a Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) call for an assault of a female at Gold Mountain Village on 440 Powder Run Drive in Central City. The officer responded to the area and located two subjects involved in the incident. One subject was later arrested by GCSO.
On 1/24/22, an officer responded to the Hidden Treasure trailhead on 8060 Clear Creek for a graffiti incident.
On 1/25/22, a BHPD officer responded to the KMM parking garage on a vehicle trespass report. No suspect/s were identified after the investigation and the case is inactive
On 1/25/22, a BHPD detective investigated a theft report from the Monarch Casino on 488 Main Street. The suspect, who was an employee at the time, cashed their payroll check twice; once through mobile banking and the other at the Monarch Casino Cashier. The case is still under investigation.
On 1/26/22, an officer was dispatched to a person using narcotics in a bathroom at the Ameristar Casino on 111 Richman Street. A female was contacted and issued a summons for unlawful possession of a controlled substance and for possession of drug paraphernalia.
On 1/26/22, officers responded to a report of a physical altercation between two male parties at the Ameristar Casino. One male party was arrested on GC Summons 10235.
On 1/28/22, the BHPD responded to the Gilpin Casino to investigate the theft of a wallet. One male and one female suspect were identified and located. The male suspect returned the wallet and its contents. The male party was also found to be in possession of illicit drugs and was issued a summons. The wallet was returned to the owner and the drugs were booked into evidence.
On 1/28/22, a BHPD detective responded to the Isle Casino on the report of a criminal trespass to a motor vehicle which had occurred in the parking garage either earlier in the morning or the night before. There is no suspect information.
On 1/28/22, at approximately 3:42 p.m., the BHPD was notified that a guest at the Monarch had left his handgun in his hotel room. An officer responded and took custody of the handgun. It will be kept for safekeeping until the owner can return to Black Hawk and retrieve it.
On 1/28/22, at 7:20 p.m., an officer recovered a stolen vehicle in the Ameristar garage. Two suspects were subsequently arrested and narcotics were found on their persons.
On 1/28/22, an officer responded to the KMM parking garage of an animal alone in a vehicle.
On 1/29/22, officers responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of a physical disturbance. After an investigation, a female was arrested for harassment and a male was arrested for 2nd degree assault.
On 1/29/22, the BHPD responded to the Ameristar Casino to take a report of a firearm found in a hotel room. The firearm was collected for safekeeping and a report was taken.
On 1/29/22, an officer responded to the Isle casino on the report of a verbal disturbance. One female suspect was arrested for harassment and a male suspect was arrested on a DV warrant.
On 1/29/22, officers responded to the Isle Casino on the report of an intoxicated male acting aggressively. The male party was arrested for harassment and obstructing justice.
On 1/29/22, an officer was dispatched to the Red Dolly Casino on a report of damage to property regarding a slot game. The suspect fled the scene. Personal and Vehicle information was not available.
On 1/30/22, at approximately 7:44 a.m., an officer took a phone report of a missing party who was suicidal. The individual’s vehicle was located and while checking casinos for the individual, the vehicle left the area traveling south on Highway 119.
On 1/30/22, at approximately 11:45 p.m., BHPD officers were dispatched to a disturbance where people almost got into a fight in the bathroom by the main cage at the Ameristar Casino in Black Hawk. An adult male was issued a summons for disorderly conduct.
On 1/31/22, an officer responded to the Isle parking garage on 401 Main Street for a vehicle break-in and a report was taken. There are currently no investigative leads or suspect information in this case.
On 1/31/22, officers responded to 111 Richman Street on a suicidal party that was reported to be in the area by Broomfield Police. The subject was located and cleared by Gilpin County Paramedics after an evaluation. He was provided with information for the Jefferson County Mental Health Crisis Center for follow-up.
